Glued laminated timber houses: interior decoration and its features
To date, there is no more original structure than a wooden house. It can be built from rounded and glued beams.
How are these buildings different? Their main difference lies in the fact that the walls made of rounded timber do not have a flat surface, as they do from glued laminated timber.
It is for this reason that the interior decoration of houses made of glued laminated timber is quite simple.
We can say that without any decoration it looks very beautiful. All such work is necessary for the reason that the house with their help can last much longer.
Advice. It is very important to insulate and finish those wooden houses that are operated all year round.
Very often, for finishing walls made of glued laminated timber, it is used:
- Lacquers.
- Block house.
- Wooden lining.
- Plastic.
The surface of the walls is varnished from the inside only if the walls are insulated and finished on the outside. Otherwise, this method of finishing will be only decorative.
Block house in the decoration of a wooden house
What is a block house? These are wooden panels that have a convex surface on one side and a flat surface on the other.
In appearance, this finishing material very much resembles a lining. It is widely used not only for interior decoration, but also for exterior (see).
It is practical and has a beautiful aesthetic appearance.
Blokhus features:
- The wood from which the block house is made first goes through several stages of preparation.
- Initially, it is dried in special dryers, then it is treated with antiseptic agents, and only after that a varnish coating can be applied to its surface.
- It all depends on the type of such material. There are lacquered surfaces of the block house, but there are also natural ones.
Advice. If the strips of the block house are not treated with any paints and varnishes, then it will be better to varnish its surface with varnish yourself. This will help protect the finishing material from any impact on it.
- The advantage of a block house is that it is reliably protected from decay. All this is due to the long work on the preparation of the material.
- Also, it does not deform under pressure or physical exertion and does not change its appearance over time.
Advice. The only thing that will need to be taken into account is that it cannot be used in unheated rooms during the cold period of time. This is for the reason that due to the difference in temperature conditions inside the room itself and outside, condensate can collect under such a finishing material, which has a negative effect on wooden walls and on the material.
Everyone has long known that wood absorbs moisture well. After that, insects can start in it.
Also, due to the temperature difference, the tree can shrink and dry out. It is for this reason that it will be more rational to carry out insulation and insulation before finishing work using such a material.
Insulation and insulation of a wooden house
There is a very large selection at the moment of heaters and insulating materials. For these purposes, even one type can be used, for example, foam or polyurethane foam.
Advice. For warming a wooden structure, it is not recommended to use mineral wool. It absorbs moisture well and loses its technical characteristics over time.
Instructions for insulation and insulation
So:
- It is especially important to take this point into account if, nevertheless, it is the block house that is chosen as the finish.
- Since the walls of glued bursa are a relatively flat surface, all work on them will be very simple. You can carry them out with your own hands and not resort to the help of a specialist.
- Initially, you will need to close up all the gaps between the logs. For this, as a rule, moss or linen thread is used.
The materials are also considered environmentally friendly. - After such work, it will be necessary to attach insulation and insulating material to the surface. Let's say it will be polystyrene, the price for it is very low, and the material itself is universal (insulation and insulator).
It is attached to the wall surface with building glue or liquid nails. - You can think over the process of warming and finishing at the same time. In order to fix the block house, you will first need to make a kind of crate.
If the insulation material is already fixed on the walls, then the installation process of such a crate will be a little difficult. That is why it will be more rational to initially make a frame on the wall surface and already place a heater in its cells.
Finishing with a block house
As mentioned above, the block house is attached to the frame (crate). But here you can use another method.
For the installation of such a finishing material, very often a sheet of plywood or very thin OSB is attached to the wall surface. It is on them that it will be mounted.
In this case, insulation and insulation work can be carried out immediately, since sheets of plywood or OSB will be placed on top of them.
To mount the block house you will need:
- Wood screws.
- Liquid Nails.
- Sealant.
- Screwdriver.
- Level.
Stages of finishing work
So:
- Since the material on the inside has a very flat surface, its installation will not be difficult. Block house strips must be started from top to bottom.
Thus, on the visible part of the wall there will be only whole elements of such a peculiar design. - Panels of this material have special locks at the end. To give the fastener greater strength, all joints of the strips must be treated with a sealant, which will make it possible to protect the premises from increasing air humidity.
To finish the corners in the room there are special wooden external and internal corners. They are attached to the finishing material itself with self-tapping screws. If the block house is not varnished, then it will be more rational to cover its surface after finishing work has been completed.
Wooden lining in the decoration of a wooden house
Wood has excellent technical characteristics. To use it in the decoration of a wooden house means to give integrity to the entire structure.
from glued laminated timber using lining will look very original. The photo shows examples of such a design of the room.
Wooden lining:
- Practical.
- Durable.
- Easy to install.
- Has a wide range of sizes and designs.
Lining features:
- In appearance, the wooden lining is more like plastic. The difference will be the color scheme and the weight of the material itself.
The dimensions may also be the same. - Wooden lining can have a flat surface, or maybe there will be a variety of ornaments on the surface, which are made using woodcarving. This type of finishing material is rightfully considered designer.
From the lining strips you can collect very original images on the wall. - As a rule, wooden lining is already initially covered with varnish and matting agents, which give color to the surface of the wood. If there is no paint layer on its surface, then it will be better to varnish the surface after finishing work is completed.
- The lining is attached to a frame of wooden planks, which are fixed to the surface of the wall. In such works, both insulation and insulation can also be carried out.
In order to carry out the installation of such a finishing material, you will need:
- Wood screws.
- Screwdriver.
- Sealant.
- Level.
Simple installation instructions:
- It is necessary to lead strips from the entrance to the room so that only whole elements of wooden lining are on the wall surface. If you need to adjust the size, then a regular saw or a jigsaw is used.
All panel joints are treated with sealant. - The video shows an example of such work on finishing a wooden house with clapboard. There is nothing difficult in such works and everyone can cope with them.
There is a certain installation instruction, following which you need to fasten the wooden lining.
Finishing in a wooden house can be external and internal. Outside, wooden buildings are very rarely finished.
All this can adversely affect the appearance of the building itself. It is best to carry out interior decoration and insulation. Such work is not required to be carried out in the entire building.
Finishing can carry a decorative decoration, such as artificial stone or cork materials.
