Racks From Wooden Bars: Instructions For Making. How to build a roomy and practical rack with your own hands? We make a rack of wood with our hands
Making a new rack that will ideally fit the size and design of the room is a simple and doable task. Especially if the list of "pluses" includes considerable savings and the possibility of self-realization.
With the help of the new shelving, you can easily organize the space, zone the room, effectively and neatly place all the small things and accessories.
The main thing is to decide on the drawing and diagram, find the materials and proceed with the assembly.
Shelving Ideas
The design of the wooden rack is characterized by an abundance of identical through open shelves. The simplicity and versatility of the design determines its practicality, perfect match with any interior style and room.
In the children's room, the rack will accommodate all the toys, books and trinkets, while due to the openness of the shelves it will visually expand the space.
In the office, a semi-closed full-wall shelving with the maximum number of surfaces for placing books, folders or stationery is useful.
The most common place for shelving is the living room, where this item of time has more aesthetic tasks: spectacular accessories, photo frames, sets, and indoor flowers are symmetrically and organically placed on the shelves.
For dishes, jars of cereals or seasonings, they put a rack in the kitchen.
What are shelving
Just look at a few photos of the racks to see all the variety of their shapes, sizes and colors. However, all designs are divided into several typical groups:
Stationary racks
They are distinguished by reliability, strength and massiveness, however, their movement is impossible without dismantling the structure into separate racks and crossbars.
Mobile mobile racks
Complemented with wheels and made of lighter materials. This option is convenient for those who like permutations.
An original place to place frequently used items, such as condiments, personal care items or keys, will be a rotating design.
Hanging racks
Hanging racks consist of 3-4 connected shelves, which are popular in small areas, as they are compact and do not take up free space against the wall or floor.
Standard Shelving Requirements
Before you start cutting and assembling the rack, you need to decide on a suitable drawing. To begin with, it is worth accurately measuring the space and taking into account that for heavy objects, the thickness of the shelf board should be at least 25 cm, length - at least 90 cm and not more than 150 cm, while the optimal depth of the shelf is 50 cm, height - 55 cm.
Necessary materials
A rack made of natural oak, pine or mahogany with a moisture content of no more than 12% will last a long time.
All materials are sawn to the required dimensions a few days before assembly and treated with antiseptics and other special woodworking products.
As for additional elements, you will need plywood or chipboard, shelf holders, plastic or metal corners, clamps, legs on wheels.
Note!
To work with wood, you will need a standard set of tools: self-tapping screws, electric jigsaw, Sander, nails, level, electric drill, ruler, hammer, tape measure.
List necessary materials ends with paintwork materials and carpentry glue.
Rack Assembly Scheme
Making a rack with your own hands is easy if you follow a certain algorithm:
- On the side boards and the back wall, mark with a pencil for attaching the shelves;
- Start work from the ground up. On the lowest shelf, fix the back wall with self-tapping screws, and in its absence, fix the side walls.
- Fix in the marked places metal or plastic corners that will hold the shelves;
- When mounting the rack elements, it is necessary to carefully monitor the evenness of the structure;
- For greater strength, it is recommended to coat all holes with glue;
- At the end of the assembly, fix the cover on top of the rack with screws;
- If necessary, cover the product with varnish or paint, after sanding the surface.
Original racks
Often, a do-it-yourself rack made of wood is distinguished by its originality and originality. So, you can make a rack of 6 identical boards and 12 glass bottles.
To do this, at the ends of the base board, it is necessary to drill a pair of holes corresponding to the bottle bottoms, and on the next board - for the necks. In total, you get three original shelves, which must be securely fixed together with the help of a rail and self-tapping screws.
Note!
An interesting solution would be a rack with a rope frame that connects 4-5 shelves and is placed on the wall with hooks or nails.
True, heavy objects can break the structure, so use a place to store towels, photos or fakes.
When independently manufacturing the rack, all dimensions are taken into account square area, a suitable shape, color and texture is selected, which ultimately allows you to get an original and ideal design.

Note!
A few decades ago, furniture was very difficult to get. This contributed to the fact that home craftsmen made it on their own. Today, in every store of relevant goods, you can find a model for every taste and budget, but to this day it is customary to buy sheet materials that go into the production of cabinet furniture.
The rack is used in interior design quite often. It has functional qualities, and its appearance does not complicate the perception of the room. You can buy such a piece of furniture in a store, but its dimensions, shape and color are not always suitable for the buyer. In this case, it is better to start manufacturing the structure yourself, using chipboard, which will save and simplify the work.
Preparation of the main material
Before making a rack, you should decide whether the design should be cheap or stylish. Thickened details can create a feeling of monumentality and massiveness. Such a piece of furniture will look expensive, but it will take twice as much materials, effort and time. Therefore, it is recommended to use 16 mm chipboard.
Horizontal planes will need 6 pieces, the size of each of which should be 1200x350 mm. Vertical planes must be cut in the amount of 15 pieces, the parameters of each of them must be equal to 320x320 mm. If you decide to make a stylish chipboard rack, then the number of parts should be multiplied by two. This option will stand on horizontal bars in the color of chipboard, but they can be replaced with those selected in the hardware store.
Preparing Consumables
The main fasteners for furniture are 5x70 mm. If you buy a box of 1000 pieces, you can save 5 times compared to the retail price. In addition to legs and confirmations, it should be purchased with an adhesive base. Vertical planes will be visible from both sides, and it is better to fix the composite parts together with brackets from the working ends. The edge must be purchased wide, the standard 22 mm must be discarded.
Preparation of structural details
If you will be making a chipboard rack, then you will also have to prepare structural details. Laminate board does not make sense to cut at home, unless you have a circular saw with a quality blade. These manipulations are best entrusted to professionals who are engaged in the manufacture of furniture. But you can stick the edge with your own hands, using an ordinary iron to warm up adhesive surface. The regulator must be set to 3/4 of the maximum power.
After that, you need to attach the edge to the end of the parts, heat it up and come with a dry rag. Run the rag over the surface several times to make sure the edges are secure. The protruding excess is cut off with a knife and processed with fine-grained sandpaper. You should not be zealous with grinding, otherwise you will get a chamfer, which is useless on chipboard furniture.
Carrying out assembly
When making a rack from chipboard, you need to use confirmations as screeds. Through 8 mm holes are made in the plane, 5 mm holes must be made at the ends of the parts, deepening by 60 mm. In order not to encounter difficulties when using manual wrenches, which are sold together with confirmations, you should purchase a hex bit for a screwdriver. In order for the chipboard rack to be original, the vertical planes can be positioned as you like. The main requirement in this case is that the holes for the fasteners match, and the structure itself is stable.
Alternative chipboard shelving: assembly from individual cubes
Do-it-yourself chipboard rack can be made using another technology. It will involve the assembly of individual cubes. Detailing involves the preparation of 20 sidewalls of square-shaped cubes with a side of 300 mm. Large shelves will have dimensions equal to 700x300 mm. They will need 10 pieces, as well as small shelves. The dimensions of the latter will be 500x300 mm. Detailing from fiberboard involves cutting 5 blanks with dimensions that are equal to 695x295 mm. Another 5 elements should have dimensions equal to 495x295 mm.
Fasteners and accessories
When shelving is made of chipboard, photos of such finished structures and a description of the work should always be at hand for the master. So, for example, they will make it clear that the ends should be pasted over with a melamine edge. It is selected in the color of the main material. Confirmations with the above dimensions will be needed to carry out the work. Furniture nails should also be purchased, their dimensions will be 1.5x25 mm. Buy 4x30mm self-tapping screws. With their help, you can pull together the cubes as soon as you make a beautiful design.
Chipboard can be made only after you see that there is a certain set of tools available, among them:
- screwdriver;
- drill;
- pencil;
- roulette;
- a hammer;
- screwdriver bits.
After all the tools and parts are ready, you can proceed with the assembly.
Work methodology
In order to make shelving, chipboard is often used by home craftsmen. The technology provides for the assembly of the cube, for this, on the sidewall it is necessary to mark the rear and front edges, as well as the lower and upper. Letters are placed on the plane, this will allow you to navigate. 40 mm should be measured from the back and front, while 8 mm is measured from the bottom and top. This will mark the sidewall for confirmations.
8 mm holes are drilled in the marks obtained. The shelves will have the same width and different lengths, their width will need to be drilled. Holes are made in the thickness of the parts using a 5 mm drill, for this you should go deep by 60 mm. To obtain a cube, the shelves are pulled together with the sidewalls. Hardboard can be nailed, it is important to keep right angles. The hats of confirmations are decorated with caps, which can be purchased at the hardware store.
Chipboard shelving for the home must have a solid foundation if the structure is to have an impressive height. Before starting work, it is necessary to mark the wall. For load-bearing supports in this case, wooden beams are usually used. If the rack will have the height of the room, then the base is attached not only to the floor, but also to the ceiling. Wooden bars in this case act as an excellent base, they can have a rectangular or square shape. Everything will rest on the final size of the finished structure, the width and depth of the shelves.
The frame is twisted with self-tapping screws, and the corners are reinforced with planks. The base can be fixed to the wall, then the rack will have a high degree of stability. It is important to ensure that the bearing supports are vertical. The transverse side braces will ensure the reliability of the rack, which will make the structure rigid. These factors must be taken into account if the rack will be subjected to high loads.
Conclusion
If the described piece of furniture reaches the height of the ceiling, then it is possible to sheathe finished supports not only with chipboard, but also with MDF. Fastening in this case is carried out to the bars, on the sides, top and bottom. The result is a finished box that does not have a back wall. But if you wish, you can add a rack with it. The most simple design consists only of shelves and bars. After completion of work, the material can be painted.
Do you need to organize your personal belongings? Do you have a specific place to store them? Then you need a rack. This is the simplest and most practical way to solve this problem. The rack will be useful not only in the pantry, as many believe. Its use is practical in the garage, and in the library, and in the office, and even in living rooms. In order to make a rack, you don’t need superpowers, and you don’t need special tools either. If your funds are limited, then you can make a rack from the materials that you have at home.
Drawing development
For the successful development of the drawing, you should accurately measure the place where the rack should be located in the future. If you need to make it for storing tools or conservation, then you should not be sophisticated with forms. It should have a standard height that allows you to make a pantry or garage space. For convenience, it is better to make it to the ceiling. The photo below shows an example of what a typical garage or pantry shelving design might look like.
As for the width of the shelves, it all depends on the items that you plan to store on them. If we are talking about storing cans and books, then a width of 25-30 cm will be enough for you. As for storing a tool, then you should start from its volume, the width of the shelves should correspond to it.
The length of the shelves, as well as their width, also depends on the items that will be stored on them. For example, if the items are light, then one shelf can reach up to 1.5 m, and if you need a bookshelf, then in order to maintain the integrity of the rack for a long time, each shelf should not exceed a length of 90 cm. If you plan to store heavy tools on the racks , then it is better to make a project with this fact in mind. In the process of making the rack, you will need to reinforce the frame with a metal profile.
Sometimes the rack is used to store various items in living quarters. In this case, it is better to take care of creating an interesting form of this design. So, you can decorate the interior with a new piece of furniture and functionally fill the space.
Materials and tools for manufacturing:
- Reiki for the manufacture of crossbars and slats.
- A beam used as a temporary support.
- Shelves - MDF or chipboard, plywood can serve as their quality.
- Dowels and screws.
- Screwdriver, but rather a screwdriver.
- Level.
- Roulette.
If you decide to use chipboard or MDF as shelves, then you need to make sure that it is cut to the desired size in advance. Often such services are provided in specialized stores.
We make the base of the structure
The first thing you should do before you start installing any shelving is to mark the wall. Wooden beams are best suited for the construction of load-bearing supports. The key to success will be the installation of a solid foundation for the rack. If the rack is designed for the entire height of the room, then it is important to fix the base to both the floor and the ceiling. If we talk about wooden bars, then they can be either square or rectangular in shape. It all depends on the size of the finished structure, the depth and width of the shelves.
The frame must be twisted with self-tapping screws, and the corners must be reinforced with special strips. It is great if the base can also be fixed to the wall, then the rack will be especially stable, but in this case it will not be possible to install the back wall on the structure itself.
It is very important to ensure that during installation, the bearing supports are always vertical. Lateral cross braces provide greater stability of the rack, which makes the structure more rigid. It is especially important to consider these factors if the rack will be subjected to heavy loads.
Installing the box and shelves
At this stage, the rack can be sheathed with pre-prepared chipboard or MDF boards, which should be attached to the beams - from below, above and on the sides. The result of the work will be a finished box without a back wall. But, if you have a desire, then you can make a design with a back wall, here you can be guided by your own wishes or the purposes of using the rack. In general, the simplest design can only consist of bars and shelves. Bars and shelves can be painted.
At standard height premises, it is most practical to install 6 transverse shelves. You can determine their height yourself. Recently, racks with an asymmetric arrangement of shelves have become popular. The middle shelf is subjected to the greatest loads, so it must be especially strong. For better fixing of the shelves, you need to use metal corners.
Another important detail: the thickness of the shelves should be 4-6 mm less than the length of the self-tapping screw itself, with which the shelf with the bar is connected to each other.
The design will withstand even heavy loads, if the corners are securely fixed. For best results, it is important to check the level of each shelf before final fixing it. Corner joints must be strictly at an angle of 90ᴼ.
We are nearing the finish line. Fixing front panels
If you sheathed the rack with MDF or chipboard, then upon completion of the sheathing, you need to stick a special melamine edge on all ends of the parts. This can be done with an ordinary iron. Lay the edge on the edge treated with sandpaper (fine-grained) and smooth it with a hot iron. Cut off the excess edges with a clerical knife.
Some shelves can be closed by attaching beautiful doors to them. This type of rack can be used every day, and its neat appearance will be successful and original decoration any living room.
A photo
It often happens that due to the lack of a specific place to store things, an apartment or house begins to gradually become cluttered. In this case, a simple and practical way to solve the problem can be a rack. It will be useful not only in the pantry, as is commonly believed. With it, you can divide the room into several zones, organize tools in the garage or things on the balcony in an orderly manner.
For the manufacture of the rack does not require special knowledge and skills, expensive materials and tools. It is made quickly, and most importantly, it does not require significant cash costs, like buying a store counterpart or a new cabinet.
Necessary materials and tools
To make the simplest rack, you need to prepare the following materials and tools:
- slats (for planks and crossbars);
- beam;
- shelves (you can use them as edged boards, MDF boards, chipboard, laminated boards, plywood, glass, natural wood or plastic)
- screws and dowels;
- screwdriver (screwdriver);
- electric jigsaw;
- roulette;
- level;
- chalk or soft pencil.
Shelving boards
The material from which they will be made is selected taking into account the operating conditions of the future structure. If the rack will be in a room with high humidity(bathroom) or sudden changes in temperature, then wooden details should be treated with special protective coating, and black metal parts with protective paint.
If the shelves are planned to be made from chipboard or MDF, then you need to take care of cutting the material in advance. This can be done independently with a jigsaw, or sawed in a specialized store. Built-in shelves are available.
Shelving design selection and drawing development
To develop a correct and successful drawing, it is necessary to accurately measure the location of the future location of the rack. Here you can not do without a tape measure and a pencil (chalk). If the design is intended for storing tools or canning jars, it is better to give preference simple forms. The height of the rack directly depends on the height of the room, your own preferences and convenience. The width of the shelves depends on the items that will be located on it. To store jars or books, a width of 25-40 cm is sufficient. If we are talking about a tool, then the width is selected in accordance with its dimensions.
The length of the shelves also depends on what will be stored on them. If the rack is made for toys, various figurines and other souvenirs, the shelves can reach a length of 1.5 meters, if for heavy books - no more than 90 cm (otherwise deflection cannot be avoided).
Fasteners also need to be selected taking into account the loads. Self-tapping screws can be used for decorative shelving. If the structure is attached to brick wall- self-tapping screws with a length of 52 mm are sufficient, if for concrete - the length of the fastener must be at least 89 mm.
After measurements are taken and the issue with the design of the rack is resolved, a drawing is made. Here you do not need to be a great draftsman, it is enough to draw an approximate plan-drawing indicating the dimensions and the most optimal arrangement of the shelves.
Stages of rack manufacturing
Further steps for the manufacture of the rack can be divided into several stages:
- Base mounting
- Installing the box and shelves
- Shelving finishing
Base mounting
Before proceeding with the installation of the rack, it is necessary to mark the wall. If the rack is built along the entire height of the wall, then it is better to attach the supporting frame in the form of wooden beams to both the ceiling and the floor.
For the construction of a bearing support is best suited wooden beam. The key to the success of the design is a solid foundation.
Bars can be used both rectangular and square. It all depends on the size of the finished rack, the length and width of the shelves. To fix the bars and the base board, it is recommended to use 3 cm self-tapping screws.
During the installation of the structure, it is important to ensure that the bearing supports are always located vertically. Lateral cross braces will give the structure additional rigidity, which means it will make the rack more durable. It is especially important to take this into account if the structure will be subject to heavy loads.
Installing the box and shelves
When the base of the rack is ready, you can proceed to the formation of the structure box. Pre-prepared MDF, chipboard, boards or other material used is attached to the bars from the bottom, top and sides. As a result of the work, you will get a box without a back wall. If desired, you can make a rack with a back wall of fiberboard or thin plywood. It is installed last.
After mounting the box, go to the shelves. On the side walls of the box on the inside, marks are made indicating the location of future shelves. Shelves can be fixed with self-tapping screws, metal corners or other selected fastening systems. If the rack is made with the expectation of a large load, then it is better to use metal corners. From above, transverse bars are attached to them, on which the shelves will rest. It is important to remember: the length of the screws that connect the shelf to the beam should be 4-6 mm longer than the thickness of the shelf.
The greatest load falls on the middle shelf, so it should be made especially strong. For best results, use a level when installing shelves. Recently, racks with asymmetrically arranged shelves have become popular.
Shelving finishing
If the rack was made of chipboard or MDF boards, then for greater aesthetics and to give the structure a finished look, a melamine edge should be glued to all ends of the parts. This is done using a conventional iron. The edge is placed on the end pre-treated with fine-grained sandpaper and smoothed with a hot iron. The excess edges of the edge are trimmed with a clerical knife.
If desired, some shelves can be closed with doors. This will add originality to the rack. Or you can even make a whole
If you need a shelving in the garage, then it is easiest and fastest to make it out of wood. Moreover, for this it is absolutely not necessary to have the skills of making furniture, it is enough just to get acquainted with the technology.
Wooden shelving options
At first glance, the rack is extremely simple furniture, so there is no need to talk about any variations in its design.
But in reality wooden shelving for the house and garage, which you can do yourself, there are different types:
- Stationary wall and autonomous;
- Autonomous collapsible;
Stationary
First of all, let's look at how to make a do-it-yourself wooden rack, which is most popular with garage owners, i.e. stationary.
It has a number of advantages:
- High load capacity;
- Durability;
- Spaciousness, thanks to which you can store any items on it, including car tires and wheels;
- Ease of manufacture.
I must say that such furniture can be useful not only for motorists. You can use these racks for the home - wooden shelves will withstand the load of conservation or, for example, books.
The manufacturing process of this design will be divided into several stages:
- Project preparation;
- Preparation of materials;
- Construction assembly.
Project preparation
When preparing a project, it is necessary first of all to determine the following parameters of the product:
- Height- if the garage is small, it makes sense to make a rack under the roof. The only thing, do not forget to provide a gap so that various items can also be stored on the last shelf;
- Length- is selected individually, depending on your needs and the characteristics of the garage itself;
- Shelf depth- this parameter is selected taking into account the items that you are going to store, as well as the size of the garage;
- Distance between shelves- to decide on this parameter, consider what items you will store. It is not necessary to make all the shelves at the same distance from each other. For example, a compartment for storing wheels can be made 60-70 centimeters high, and the rest of the shelves can be placed at a shorter distance.
When all the parameters of the furniture are known, you need to decide on the type of construction.
As we said above, there are two options for the design of a stationary rack:
- Stand-alone - shelves rest only on racks. The advantage of such furniture is that it can be carried, and it does not require fastening to the wall. If the walls of the garage are metal or wooden frame, then only such a rack can be installed;
- wall- in this case, the front of the shelves rests on the racks, and the back is attached directly to the walls. The advantage of such racks is that they are located close to the wall, so they take up less space.
When you decide on all the nuances, you should depict the future product with your own hands on paper, and indicate the dimensions of all the details - especially if you are doing this kind of work for the first time. The presence of such a scheme before your eyes will allow you to avoid mistakes in the process of preparing parts and assembling the structure.
Preparation of materials
What is required to assemble the rack is a tree, namely, a bar with a section of 40x60 mm. From it we will make racks and load-bearing beams.
In addition, some other materials will be required:
- Boards 25-30 mm thick and 50 mm wide for lintels;
- Boards 20x95 mm
- self-tapping screws;
- Steel corners;
- Fire retardant impregnation.
If the structure is wall-mounted, you will need more dowels to attach the structure to the wall.
Important! Dowels for fastening the structure to the wall are selected taking into account the material of the walls. If the walls are concrete or brick, ordinary dowel-nails will do (quick installation). If the walls are made of aerated concrete, use chemical dowels or butterfly dowels.
Manufacturing
Before you make a wooden rack with your own hands, you need to process everything wooden materials protective impregnation.
The composition is applied with an ordinary brush - the only thing is that the tree should not only be covered with liquid, but literally rubbed into it. After the tree dries, it is advisable to repeat the procedure to achieve the greatest effect.
You will spend only a few hundred rubles on such processing, approximately the same price of impregnation, but on the other hand, the structure will be able to serve in the garage for many years, even despite difficult operating conditions - dampness, temperature changes, etc.
After preparing the lumber, you can begin to manufacture the structure:

This work is almost completed. Now the structure should be sanded, then painted or varnished.
I must say that according to such a scheme, it is possible to produce not only technical furniture, but also home racks - wooden beautiful sidewalls, for example, are easy to obtain by milling construction sites. Also, chamfer all corners to make them slightly rounded.
Advice! To give the product the look of an expensive tree, tint the surface with a stain or other glazing compound. Thus, it is possible to give the surface any tone, from bleached oak to mahogany.
As a result, the product will look quite attractive. Therefore, it can be used not only in the pantry, but also in the library for storing books or, for example, in the office for documentation.
The wall rack is made in the same way, with the only difference that it does not have a back rack. Therefore, the side jumpers are rigidly connected to the rear beams of the shelves. In this case, the rear beams of all shelves are attached to the wall.
Autonomous collapsible
For small garages, collapsible shelving is an excellent solution. Especially they are convenient for temporary storage of various trifles. For example, during car repairs, you can put working tools and parts on such a rack, which is very convenient.
Such designs are based on the principle of a ladder. The simplest option is a model with shelves that are put on the sidewalls.
For its manufacture we need the following materials:
- Bar with a section of 30x50 mm;
- Wide boards, plywood or OSB sheets with a thickness of at least 10 mm.
Before proceeding with the manufacture of the structure, process all the details according to the scheme described above.
Similar wooden racks are made with their own hands as follows:
Production of sidewalls-racks:
- Cut a 30x50 mm timber into pieces 2000 mm long. We will need four such racks;
- Make two jumpers from the same bar 300 mm long;
- From the existing parts, make two isosceles triangles.
Nuance: the bottom bar, which has a length of 300 mm, should not be located at the very base, but at a distance of about 100 mm from the edge of the uprights, as shown in the photo.
- To connect adjacent posts at the top, they need to be cut a little. Thus, you can increase the area of \u200b\u200badjacency of parts. After that, the joint must be smeared with glue;
- Additionally, adjacent racks at the top should be tightened with bolts or self-tapping screws;
- To give the sidewalls greater rigidity, tighten the racks with another jumper located closer to the top.
Shelf making:
- Cut out rectangular shelves from sheet material or boards. Their length should be the same, and the width may increase from top to bottom;
- Mark the racks, indicating at what level the shelves will be located;
- In the shelves, make rectangular holes for the sidewalls. The width of the holes should be 30 mm, and the length of the cut should be equal to the distance between the uprights at the level at which the shelf will be located;
- Put the shelves on the sides.
There is another version of such a rack, which even more resembles a stepladder. In fact, the product is two stairs that are connected at the top door hinges, which allows you to fold the structure. The steps of the stairs serve as the basis for the shelves of this rack.
To prevent the sidewalls from moving apart, a pair of straps or metal clips can be fixed between them.
Such furniture can also be used not only in the garage. For example, you can use a folding wooden loggia rack as a flower stand.
And if you dock several of these "ladders", you can get a long collapsible rack, which in some cases can replace a stationary counterpart.
wall
Wooden hanging racks can also have different design. As an example, consider how to make the simplest model - with folding shelves. For the manufacture of such a rack, we need sheet material- plywood or OSB.
All that is needed to make such a design is to mark the location of the shelves on the sheet and carefully cut them out with a jigsaw along the markings. After that, the cut shelves must be attached to the hinged sheet.
To fix the shelves in a horizontal position, use straps or metal clips. The main thing is to adjust the locking mechanism so that the shelves are located strictly horizontally.
It must be said that this type of wall-mounted wooden racks is not intended for storing heavy items. But they are very convenient for all sorts of small things.
Conclusion
As you can see, every beginner can make any wooden shelving for a pantry or garage. Moreover, this does not require any professional tool. Before you get started, we recommend watching the video in this article. We are sure it will be useful.
