A Magic Journey to the Planet of Knowledge
An extra-curricular event in English for 3rd grade students. During the event, students of grade 4 (main characters) and grade 2 (riddles about animals) are also involved.
Goals:
generalization of the material studied in grade 3;
improving the skills of monologue and dialogic speech, as well as grammar;
activation of lexical and phonetic skills;
education of curiosity and tolerance;
introducing students to the culture of English-speaking and other countries as part of the event
Equipment: multimedia projector, tasks on A4 for each class, list of competitions for the jury, “cookies” for the song.
Event progress
(v.1) Teacher: Today we’ll have a magic journey to the planet of knowledge. Today we will make an exciting journey to the planet of Knowledge. You should do the tasks and then you'll learn a lot of interesting facts about different things. Your journey will be long, so you will make stops on different planets, complete various tasks, and as a reward - receive information from different areas of our lives. Let's start. (sl.2)
The first planet is the ABC planet - the planet of the English alphabet. Meet the inhabitants of this planet - (sl.3)
Pupil 1: Hello. Welcome to the ABC planet. You should make words which you need in your journey. Here some letters and be quick in this task.
