How to care for a well in the country. Well maintenance in autumn. Probably, for the vast majority of summer residents, such concepts as caring for a well, prevention, seem to be something vague, abstract, not deserving of special attention. But it's not with
We have to be guided by the weather conditions. The market niche of services for digging, arranging and maintaining wells is saturated with a huge number of proposals. After January passes for its half, it's time for the owners of the wells to think about the revision, so that by spring it will be in service. For a well-excavated spring, the winter months usually do not pose any threat, but sub-zero temperatures and reduced aquifer levels are a good time to identify and fix problems.
What can happen to a well during the winter
Stagnation and mustiness of water is the very first thing that can happen to a well without regular water intake. Country springs, which are conserved for the winter, are subject to this. You can solve the problem by simply pumping out so that the water is renewed or pumping out with disinfectionif foreign objects or dead animals are found in it.
Specific winter problem of wells on clay soils- rupture of the upper rings as a result of winter heaving. The alternate increase and decrease in the volume of soil around the rings destroys the most reliable waterproofing. This happens if, to protect the head, a clay castle was filled up without first wrapping the rings with some kind of rolled material or a monolithic concrete blind area. Such errors lead to time-consuming and costly repairs.
You have to dig out the head, put the rings back in place, restore the waterproofing seams and pump the well. If the list and rupture of the seams are detected immediately, it is urgent to carry out repairs, otherwise in the spring cheerful streams of dirty melted slurry will rush into the well, and it will cease to provide clean and safe water for drinking.
Today, old-fashioned methods are not always optimal. The clay castle, which is difficult to arrange and maintain, completely replaces the modern soft blind area, which is constructed easily and quickly, and subsequent repairs do not require heavy digging
That the well is shallowing in summer heat, unpleasant, but no one is surprised. An unexpected surprise may be the decrease in the water column in winter time. The reasons lie in the natural lowering of the aquifer or leakage due to damaged waterproofing. Less often, shallowing is provoked by relatives construction works and the construction of deeper wells and wells in the surrounding area. In a snowy winter, if there is no shortage of water, you can wait for spring, then the snow will melt, nourish the aquifer and the well.
Water can escape through poorly sealed or broken seams between the rings. To check this possibility, you will have to go down into the well and check all the joints, marking the destroyed places. If there is no water or cracks in the mine, you will have to deepen the well. For a new source, there is a chance of undermining the entire structure, followed by natural settlement, provided that the trunk is level and without displacement. The second method is to deepen the well with repair rings of a smaller diameter. Instead of heavy reinforced concrete rings, special high-strength plastic rings can be used, which are easier to bring and lower into the mine. The third option is drilling in a conventional well bottom or driving an Abyssinian well.
Any of these methods of returning water to the well is associated with expensive, complex and dangerous work deep underground, which only professionals can do. Such a procedure is advisable for springs with a solid, even trunk with a height of at least 6-7 rings, and good quality water, otherwise it will be easier and cheaper to build a new well.
Winter is ideal for deepening the well due to the low level ground water, which will allow you to go as deep as possible into the aquifer and facilitate the passage of a quicksand, if one is found.
The period of a frosty winter without long thaws is unequivocally assessed by well craftsmen as best time for the construction or deepening of wells. Also, in winter, the chance of getting into seasonal unskilled brigades is reduced.
Well cleaning, repair and disinfection
Regular implementation of these three points will ensure the cleanliness and safety of the home well. The unpretentious appearance, smell, and taste of water indicate the need to stop using it and contact a specialized company to inspect and diagnose the well. A change in organoleptic indicators is caused by a reduced volume of water consumption or contamination of the well sewage. In winter, this happens during a long thaw. A sharp deterioration in water quality can cause pollution of the entire aquifer. In this case, only new source or a major water treatment system.
Standard cleaning includes the physical removal of scale and build-up from the walls of the shaft and the removal of accumulated debris on the bottom. Before its implementation, the water is pumped out and discharged at a distance from the well. During work, strict observance of safety rules is mandatory.
Identified during cleaning, damage to the waterproofing and rings must be restored with quick-setting mortars. In most cases, repairs and cleaning are completed in one pass. When infected surface runoff, ingestion of animals and similar cases, the measures must be supplemented with disinfection of the well.
Chemicals are used for disinfection physical methods. The former include treatment with solutions and tableted chlorine-containing preparations or potassium permanganate. The second is the use of ultrasound and ultraviolet. These are advanced methods that are highly costly. After chemical disinfection, the well is completely pumped out, and the water must be defended, boiled and filtered for several more days before use.
Comprehensive diagnostics of the well before spring will help to identify and repair damage before the onset of massive snowmelt, which will eliminate pollution by melt and sewage, which will inevitably end up in the well in the presence of broken joints between the rings
Plants should not be planted near the well. Their roots will destroy the joints between the rings. So that heavy precipitation does not threaten the cleanliness of the well, it is necessary to equip the site with drainage system. It will protect buildings from dampness and destruction, and green spaces from death.
Replacement of bottom shields and filters
When cleaning the well, especially if it has not been done for a long time, tens of kilograms of deposits are found at the bottom. Along with silt and debris, bottom filters and shields have to be removed. Not every well owner knows what function they specifically perform, but they complicate cleaning. Although many are firmly convinced that it is necessary to fill the filter layers at the bottom of the well.
The first thing to remember is that clay bottom wells do not need filters or shields. They are used to stabilize quicksand and prevent turbidity from rising when water is taken. The filter is arranged from several layers of different fractions with straight or reverse laying. The most accessible material is washed river pebbles.
To improve the quality drinking water the use of mineral fillers is practiced, useful action which have already been proven. These include shungite, zeolite, etc. Stones can be reused after thorough washing. Instead of backfilling, the mineral can be hung in a well shaft on a strong cable. Water will be in constant contact with it, but it will be much easier to remove it for cleaning and repair. The filler must be mined in an ecologically clean area.
Round shields from wood help to calm the quicksand. In a humid environment, the wood gradually decomposes, so if the water has a color and a bitter taste, the shield must be removed urgently. It can be replaced with a more durable stainless steel mesh option.

Well - an artificial source of water, which is built by the mine method on the first aquifer. Atmospheric precipitation, falling into the ground, passes through the fertile layer, where they can collect almost all the elements of the periodic table, and reach the sandy layer, where they are already filtered out and form an aquifer above the clay cushion ...
Wells are most often built from reinforced concrete rings. For this, rings with a diameter of 1 meter are usually used, since they are easier to work with, they are able to provide a sufficient volume of water and are not particularly bulky. Wells are also built from solid pipes and wooden log cabins. However, wooden wells are less durable, their construction and repair is relatively expensive.
Reinforced concrete wells require no less attention. They should be cleaned regularly, at least once every three years. It is necessary to regularly pump out water, leaving a column of water at the bottom of at least 0.5 meters (especially in "quicksands"). The seams in such a well must be missed cement mortar so that no dirt can get into it. She is the source of the turbidity of the water. Seams that flow can be caulked with flax or hemp. Water will still ooze through the rings, the main task is to stop the dirt.
The technology for building a well on a site depends on the structure of the soil. In watery horizons and on sandy soils, a mine is dug from the inside, and sedimentation occurs. It is important to properly fasten the rings with metal ties. An open shaft is dug in dense clay, after which rings are installed and seams are smeared. Within three years after the construction of the well around the mine, soil shrinkage is possible.
It is unacceptable to use vibration pumps to draw water from wells; they are designed for wells. For wells, any circulation pumps are suitable.
Currently, wells are dug all year round. However, depending on the amount of precipitation (rain and snow), the levels of aquifers and their water abundance during the year change. During the period of spring snowmelt, the horizon has the most high level and the maximum water inflow is the flood period.
In summer and autumn, aquifers, on the contrary, have the lowest levels (low water), so this is the most favorable time for digging a well. It seems to someone that there is nothing complicated in building a well. Actually it is not.
Renovating a well is much more difficult and expensive than building it again. Therefore, to build a well on the site, be sure to hire professionals. And do not spare water - pump it yourself and give it to your neighbors!
Well care
Everything is important in the well - its construction, appearance, exploitation. The most important thing at the same time is that it always has clean and healthy water ... Serving as a source of water, the well primarily plays a functional role. But its above-ground part and the adjacent area can become an element of the decorative decoration of the site.
Decorated with imagination and taste, the well will decorate the territory adjacent to the house. So, the upper reinforced concrete ring protruding from the ground can be decorated with a stone or facing brick. The well looks good, designed in the form of a log cabin. After the soil around the well sags, a blind area should be made of paving slabs.
From above, the well ends with a canopy; a wooden gate with a metal handle is installed in it. A strong cord or cable is attached to the collar. A piece of chain is used directly to fasten the bucket, which will help to immerse the bucket in water. In order for the water in the well to always remain clean, the well must have a tight cover that will protect it from the ingress of insects, small animals, precipitation, as well as dust and dirt carried by the wind. The lid is easy to make from timber and lining. It must be covered with a means to protect wood from moisture.
The problem of water pollution in the well as a result of rupture of the seams between the rings can arise for two reasons. This is either poor-quality cement, or erosion of the sand-cement mixture as a result of spring snowmelt, when surface water flows intensively into the well. This problem is solved by resealing the joints with cement mortar using tow within the aquifer.
Several times a year it is necessary to carry out preventive inspections of the well. To do this, water is pumped out of the well and an electric lamp with a reflector or a sufficiently powerful electric lantern is lowered into it with a long rope. But you can also use a sunbeam - install it early in the morning or in the evening on the log house of the well large mirror and direct the sun's rays reflected by it to the bottom.
If at well inspection a foreign object is found at the bottom, then you can remove it with the help of a hook or a pole with a net at the end. If an animal or a bird got into the well, then after removing them, the water from the well must be completely pumped out, and the well must be disinfected. The well must be cleaned regularly. With a birch broom or a steel brush, dirt, mucus and moss are cleaned from the walls of the well (above-water and underwater parts). Then the walls and gravel and crushed stone raised to the surface from the bottom are washed several times with water. After cleaning, the well is completely freed from dirty water and filled with clean water.
It is good to put a bench next to the well, arrange containers with flowering and coleus. Small grooves can be dug around the canopy posts, filled with rotted compost and planted out. climbing plants. If the well is not on garden plot, then at a distance of two-three meters from it it is recommended to install a fence of wooden slats or metal bars as an obstacle for pets.

A well in the country is irreplaceable, even if there is water supply in the house. Especially the presence of a well is relevant in the spring and summer, when water consumption increases for watering plants in the garden and
flowerbeds. In addition, the presence of a well with water on suburban area and in country house will simplify the issue of organizing water supply, if it is not yet available.
Like any other thing, a well requires proper care and careful handling. As practice shows, most of the wells on the sites are built incorrectly or are operated with
serious violations of sanitary norms and rules. The health of people depends on the quality of water, therefore, the construction of a well, like any other water intake structure, should be treated with due attention and
unconditionally comply with all necessary security measures. First of all, it concerns right choice places on the site for the construction of a well.
1. The well is recommended to be located at a distance of at least 50-60 m from objects that represent potential danger water pollution in it. Facilities include a cesspool or compost pit, septic tanks and other local treatment facilities that are located on the site. The place for the construction of the well should be chosen above the level where the above objects are located.
2. Also, it is forbidden to build a well near public roads and highways. It is not recommended to arrange a well in places of accumulation of large
the number of people.
3. The area around the well should be fenced off with a wooden fence or a fence made of metal rods so that domestic animals do not approach the source of drinking water. The radius of such a sanitary
the security zone should be at least 2-3 m.
technology. If you follow these simple rules, the sanitary situation next to the well will be at the proper level.
4. It is also desirable to make a blind area around the well, which will serve as a kind of obstacle from falling into the well of melt water in the spring and seasonal precipitation. A blind area with a solid
non-soakable coating will help keep the surrounding area clean and tidy. The blind area can be poured with concrete, or laid out with paving slabs.
5. It is necessary to get water from the well with the same bucket, which is permanently attached to a chain or steel cable. After lifting, the water is poured into an individual bucket. To the water bucket
remained clean, it is better to store it in a closed well or hang it on a special hook, which is fixed under the roof of the well. So that the water in the well is not contaminated with various pathogens
bacteria to drink water directly from the water intake bucket is strictly prohibited. Also, do not touch the inner walls of the bucket with your hands. In order to make it easier to manage filled with water
buckets, you can mount a convenient shelf directly near the well.
6. At least once a season, it is recommended to carry out a preventive inspection of the well for the presence of foreign objects in it. In order to see the bottom of the well, with a long rope into the well
lower an electric lamp with a reflector or a powerful electric torch. In a narrow directional beam of light, all objects floating on the surface, as well as those located in the water column or at the bottom, are clearly visible. If a
a foreign object is found inside the well, then you can pull it out with the help of a hook or a pole with a net at the end. If an animal or a bird got into the source, then after extracting the water from the well
should be completely pumped out, and the well should be treated with a disinfectant solution.
7. Several times a year, the well must be cleaned, as in the process of use its walls can become covered with mucus and moss. To clean the walls of the well, a sharp metal scraper, a steel brush or a birch broom without leaves is well suited. Bottom gravel or crushed stone is taken out of the well and washed thoroughly with water. At the end of cleaning dirty water the source is completely pumped out of the well and disinfected
a solution of bleach in a proportion of 10-20 mg per 1 liter of water (provided that there is 1 ton of water in the well +/- 100-200 liters). After disinfection, the well should be thoroughly rinsed. During the next week of use well water, it must be boiled.
8. After the water is disinfected, it must be submitted for laboratory analysis without fail, especially if the water will be used for drinking and cooking. According to the result of water analysis.
from your source, the laboratory must provide a written opinion. If, according to the results of the analysis, the water indicators do not correspond to regulatory requirements should be re-disinfected.
9. Sometimes the water in the well acquires a specific smell and becomes musty. This happens if the well has been tightly closed with a lid for a long time. Most often this happens if the well is not
use or use but rarely. This issue is easy to solve by constructing a device for ventilating the well. Such a device works on the principle exhaust ventilation. To do this, take a wide hose or
the pipe is lowered into the shaft so that it does not reach the water level by about 30 cm. The top of the pipe (hose) is brought out. Such ventilation the simplest design eliminates all odors and
dampness dissipates quickly. Also, the well can be regularly ventilated by moving the lid aside for a while.

Wells are subject to increased sanitary requirements. The distance from the well to the nearest source of possible contamination (compost heap, treatment facilities, sewer sump, poultry and / or barnyard, garbage storage areas, etc.) must be at least 50 meters. The well should be located higher in level from the specified objects. Be sure to coordinate with your neighbors the common sanitary zones of water use facilities and strictly adhere to them. Violators, together with local sanitary authorities and local authorities, can be applied effective measures impacts defined by law.
The well itself and around it should always be clean and tidy. Animals or those whom you classify as animals should not approach the well at least 3 meters. Around the well at a distance of 6 meters, it is desirable to arrange a fence.
Insects, bugs, mice, cats, etc., as well as leaves, dust can get into an open well, so the well must be covered with a lid made of wood, metal or plastic.
In the first years (1-3 years) after the construction of the well, soil shrinkage is almost always observed along the perimeter of the well rings, as well as sometimes a slight movement of the upper rings in the horizontal direction - these are natural and easily eliminated processes. We recommend backfilling with sand. After completion of these processes, it is necessary to carry out work on arranging the blind area at a distance of 1.3 to 2.5 meters along the perimeter of the well and work on the drainage of surface (rain and / or melt water) from the well shaft.
The blind area can be made from any piece elements (tiles, stone, concrete slabs, etc.) or poured with concrete, asphalt, etc. It is better to lay the blind area on a 20-25 cm layer of greasy crumpled clay (except for places with heaving soils) with a slope away from the well or (which is better) on waterproofing material(for example, a waterproofing film). We recommend that you exclude a rigid connection (adhesion) of the blind area with the upper ring. This will eliminate the effect of heaving and / or soil subsidence on the blind area and, as a result, will reduce the likelihood of destruction of the blind area. Once again, we recall that it is possible to make a blind area only after the natural shrinkage of the soil around the well, i.e. after 1-3 years.
Drainage of surface (rain, melt) water can be done with ordinary grooves or beautifully played, organized watercourses with ponds, fountains and naiads. If the amount of water around the well still does not decrease, it will be necessary to drain the part of the site adjacent to the well with a drain device and divert water to the terrain (possibly into a drainage well) by gravity, and if this is not possible, forcibly using a pump.
In wells standing on quicksand (abundant aquifers on sandy, sandy loamy bases), in the first years of operation, a rise in the bottom is observed due to the equalization of hydraulic pressure. In these wells it is very important not to pump a large number of water, especially to the bottom, to maintain hydraulic pressure on the bottom. Ignoring this recommendation will lead to shallowing of the well, possible movement of the lower well rings and, as a result, expensive repairs. In more rare cases, in the wells of this group, there is a settling (recession) of well rings and / or their removal to the side.
Never use caulking material to seal loose seams, regardless of whether it is impregnated with mastics or not. There is no place for chemicals and unhygienic materials in the well.
In general, wells standing on conditionally clay bases are characterized by a large supply of water, but not a large debit, and wells on water-saturated sandy or sandy bases (quicksand) - a small supply of water, but a large debit. We remind you that the debit of a well is the rate at which it is filled with water. Therefore, when arranging a well and selecting water-lifting equipment (pumps), consider the ratio of their specifications, and not just your need for the amount of water.
At least twice a year, the well must be inspected and, if necessary, cleaned. For inspection, it is better to use an electric lamp in a glass cap on a long cord, you can also use an electric flashlight with a strong glow, or you can use the so-called sunbeam. The last way very simple, for this, early in the morning or in the evening, when the sun is low on the horizon, you need to take a glass or a mirror approximately 200x300 mm in size and direct the sun's rays so that they are reflected from the glass and hit the bottom.
If a foreign object is found, it must be removed immediately. To do this, depending on the depth of the well, you can use a pole or rope with a hook or net at the end.
If a mouse, bird, cat, etc. got into the well, then the water must be completely removed, the animal removed and the well disinfected, only then filled with fresh water.
Depending on the depth of the well, you can go down there by a ladder, a rope, or with the help of a simple mechanism, but be sure to have insurance and insurers in the amount of at least two people.
Before lowering people into any well, always check for gas contamination.
To do this, put a lit candle there. If the candle burns with a normal flame, then most likely there is no gas, but if the flame changes its shape (for example, into a torch), then there is some gas, and if it goes out, there is a lot of gas.
Remember: a gassed well is a mortal danger for people in it!
Gas can be removed from the well in the following ways:
- The so-called “swinging out” consists in repeatedly lowering and raising a large bunch of straw, grass or a tree in a diameter close to the inner diameter of the well. After that, it is recommended to lower a burning bunch of straw into the well in order to completely remove the remaining gas;
- An empty tub covered with a thick cloth (tarpaulin, matting). The tub is repeatedly (within 10-15 minutes) lowered on a rope to the very bottom of the well and taken out, opening the fabric, as if releasing gas;
- Fan (vacuum cleaner);
- The best way is to use an ordinary metal stove "potbelly stove", from the bottom of the well into the blower of which a pipe made of roofing steel is brought. During the combustion of the furnace, the gas accumulated there is gradually drawn out of the well through the pipe. Moreover, this can be done while people are in the well.
While working in the well, with any change in health (watery eyes, slight coughing, yawning, dizziness, etc.), immediately leave the well using a ladder or rope with knots that should never be removed from it when people are in the well. Signal this to your insurers. Never take off the safety belt, by which you can be taken out of the well.
When using hired force, require workers to comply with the above recommendations.
Having descended into the well, it is necessary to sweep dirt, grass, moss, mucus, etc. from its walls with a broom. Collect this garbage with a net and lift it up. A space filled with water can be treated with the same broom directly in the water, then remove this water with buckets and / or a pump (better drainage). Use a broom from fresh and clean birch branches without leaves. If the plaque is not removed with a broom, then it is scraped off with a steel brush or any sharp piece of iron. After that, it is advisable to rinse the walls of the well with water twice.
After completing all the activities, it is necessary to perform the DISINFECTION OF THE WELL.
If the water in the well is stagnant or little consumed, then it stagnates. In this case, the water must be pumped out. In addition, stagnant water may smell not of freshness, but of dampness, and this is unpleasant. In this case, we recommend arranging a ventilation pipe with a diameter of 8 to 20 centimeters of such a length that it does not reach the level of the water surface by 15-20 centimeters. Above the head, it should rise by about 1 meter and be closed with a weather vane and a mesh with small cells that protect insects, etc. from getting into it.
In winter, ice forms and grows on the walls of some wells. It can damage the water supply and/or equipment. To prevent this from happening, the head and lid of the well must be insulated with any environmentally friendly material and sprinkled with snow, then the well will have a constant temperature of + 6 ... + 8 ° С.
If the water level in the well is high and an ice crust is still formed, then it is necessary to warm up the well. For example, an electric bulb hung just above a crust of ice or any heating device.
A few more final recommendations.
- - never pump the well to the bottom;
- - do not pour anything, do not throw it into the well. Leave the bottom in its natural state.
- - constantly monitor the quality of water (taste, color, turbidity, smell, etc.) - this is especially true in spring and autumn;
- - do not arrange gatherings, picnics, dances, etc. near the well.
- - do not smoke near the well;
- - do not swear near the well;
- - do not brag about your well;
- - do not give water from your well to ill-wishers;
- - do not allow strangers to the well, it is better to keep the well closed with a lock;
- - Treat the well as a God-given gift.
A well in a summer cottage is, first of all, a source of drinking water, and, secondly, a source of water supply. Water in the country is invariably needed, without it there is nowhere to water the garden, how much in the evening after the end of summer troubles, or heat, or other matters.
Man invariably needs a source of fluid. But it is not always possible to make a centralized water supply in a summer cottage. This is where the old good well will save us.
We must not forget that a well is, of course, a source of drinking water and must be properly maintained. So if you need consistently clean and clear water, then you need to follow a few not super complicated rules.

1. In order for the water in the well to be invariably clean and so that dust, other debris and leaves do not get into it, it must be closed without fail. To do this, it is possible to make a special wood or plastic cover. BUT the best option will make a well house with a door with his own hands.
2. If you find any foreign object in the well, then it must be removed immediately. This is done quite easily with the help of a long rope with a hook.
3. If you have children, then you need to take security measures so that there is no accident. Under no circumstances should children be allowed to play near the well, and the lid of the well must always be kept shut.
4. There are times when animals fall into the well. Under such conditions, it is necessary to pull it out, and scoop out all the water and carry out a thorough disinfection. Then it is possible to fill your well clean water.
In order for this not to happen, it is necessary to isolate the well from animals by building a fence for this.
5. It is imperative that at least 1 per year, and preferably 2 to 3 more times, be carried out a thorough inspection of the well, control the level of pollution and the condition of the walls. In order to perfectly examine the well, it is possible to use a wonderful lantern by lowering it into the well. With it, it will be possible to closely examine your well.
6. In the event that you are going to go down into the well, then it is forbidden to do this alone - at least 1 person is obliged to insure you at the top. To go down, it is possible to use a reliable ladder or a strong rope.
Before going down, it is imperative to check the well shaft for gas concentration. This can be done with a simple candle lowered down on a rope. The flame of a candle without fail must be exactly the same as above.
If the candle goes out, this is an indicator of a high concentration of gas. Under such conditions, it is forbidden to go down - a lethal ending is guaranteed! In order to clean the well shaft from gas, it is possible to use a simple vacuum cleaner.
But the most effective method of removing gas is an extract using a potbelly stove. The stove is placed near the well, a pipe is inserted into the blower, which actually goes down to the surface of the water. The potbelly stove is actively heated, and the whole gas is pulled up.
Safety precautions for cleaning and building a well?
Working in wells is very scary. The most frequent accident during cleaning and construction is considered to be the fall of buckets of soil on a person who is at the bottom of the well. The second most dangerous case is gas poisoning.
In order to protect yourself, it is easy to follow simple safety rules when building a well:
It is forbidden to go down to the bottom without a special protective mask, and not to work without a helmet. It is necessary to use only strong ropes. The bucket must have strong and high-quality fasteners.
If you feel uneasy while working in the well, you need to urgently get up! Do not forget - never go down into the well shaft alone, at the top someone is obliged to insure you!
What to do so that the water in the well does not stagnate?
Sometimes it is not uncommon for water to stagnate in a well. This can happen if the well is rarely used. Such water cannot be drunk, it must sometimes be pumped out.
This trouble can be avoided, it is necessary to lower a special ventilation pipe with a diameter of about 20 cm into the well shaft. The bottom of the pipe should not be lower than the 15 cm mark to the water mark, and the upper one, for its part, should be a meter and a half higher than the edge of the well. So that the pipe is littered and small insects do not get in, the upper one is covered with a small mesh.
In order to protect the well from icing of the walls in winter period time, the well cover must be closed without fail, and the well house built by you must be insulated with environmentally friendly materials, for example mineral wool. It is not required to apply chemical heaters.
How to disinfect a well?
First move. In order to disinfect the well, you need to count the amount of water. To get the desired value, you need to multiply the area by the depth.
Second move. We pump out the water. After that, we wipe or pour the walls with a solution of bleach (20 g of bleach per 1 liter of water).
After that, we draw water into the well and pour the prepared solution in that direction. It is prepared based on the total volume of water in your well. To do this, we will need some kind of container that closes well.
Container needs to be filled cold water and after that in that direction add 200 mg of bleach per 1 liter. Then close the container well and mix well. Let the solution settle, then pour into another container, leaving a residue.
The resulting solution must be poured into the well and mixed well with a long stick. Now you need to let the water settle perfectly, closing the well well with a lid. It is necessary to close it so that the chlorine does not evaporate. It is the main disinfectant ingredient.
This procedure must be repeated until the bleach is gone from the water. Before bailing out water, the walls of the well must be washed with clean water, and this is done before each bailing out.
After the water has become pure, it is not required to drink it raw for at least 14 days. Boil it before use.
It will be good if you do chemical analysis water in a special laboratory. Do not forget! If the water is odorless, transparent and crystal clear, it may contain many chemical elements that are not visible to the eye.
Just proceeding from this, do not be too lazy to do a water analysis.
How to clean the well with your own hands? (video)
After you have made sure that there is no gas in the mine, it is possible to start cleaning the well.
To perfectly clean the well, you need to go down, and a special iron brush remove moss, other debris and dirt from the walls of the well shaft. Later, using a very small grid, you need to collect a lot of garbage from the bottom. After that, the walls of the mine are conscientiously and scrupulously washed with water.
In the event that you have a filter made of sand or gravel at the bottom, then it must be changed to a new one, otherwise, reach out to the old one, rinse and lower it to the bottom.
The last step in cleaning the well is pumping out and disinfecting the water. It may be necessary to pump out the water several times to achieve the desired purity of the water.
In the domestic video, you will notice how to clean the well yourself
