5.1 Compressor
The compressor consists of the following main components: crankcase, cylinder blocks, crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, valve heads and fan.

5.2 Arrangement of compressor units
5.2.1 Carter

5.2.2 Crankshaft

The double-crank shaft is mounted in the bores of the crankcase on tapered roller bearings. The crankshaft journals are located at an angle of 180°.
At the ends of the shaft there is a pulley for driving the fan on one side, and a flywheel on the other side. On the necks of the knees of the shaft there are 2 connecting rods, the upper heads of which are connected to the pistons of the 1st and 2nd stages.
5.2.3 Connecting rods
Connecting rods steel stamped I-section. The upper head of the connecting rod is one-piece with a pressed bronze bushing. The lower head is detachable filled with babbitt. An oil supply tube is installed on the cover of the lower head.
5.2.4 Pistons and piston pins
The 1st and 2nd stage pistons have two O-rings and two oil scraper rings.
Piston pins of floating type, hollow, with outer surface hardening and polishing. Fingers are kept from axial movements by spring retaining rings.
5.2.5 Cylinders
The compressor cylinders are cast iron, with a ribbed surface, cast in pairs in the form of blocks with flanges at the top and bottom. The blocks are attached to the crankcase by the lower flanges, valve heads, valve boxes and covers are installed on the upper ones.
5.2.6 Valve boxes

5.2.7 Valve heads

5.2.8 Fan
The axial fan is mounted on a bracket mounted on the crankcase and is designed to intensify the cooling of the cylinders and cooler. The fan drive is carried out from the crankshaft of the compressor through a V-belt transmission with a gear ratio of 1:2.06.

12.1 Before starting the compressor, after performing the work provided for in Section 2, it is necessary:
a) check the oil level in the crankcase using the oil gauge, top up if necessary;
b) turn on the compressor in automatic mode;
When the pressure in the air collector is lower than the minimum (start pressure) according to the pressure switch, the compressor should start, a light signal is given to the control panel;
If the air pressure is above the minimum, it must be reduced to the minimum;
in) check the capacity control by stopping, for which it is necessary to increase the pressure in the air collector to the maximum by closing the outlet valve. In this case, the compressor should automatically stop with the simultaneous activation of purge and unloading (bypass).
The valves remain on during the entire time of inactivity of the compressor and turn off automatically at the next start of the compressor (when the pressure drops to the minimum);
G) check capacity control by bypass, for
after which the switch for selecting the method of regulating the capacity on the control panel should be moved to the “Bypass” position.
Raise the air pressure in the air receiver to maximum. At the same time, the purge is turned on and the bypass valve opens, the compressor starts to work on bypass;
e) alternately check the emergency protection for overheating of the 1st and 2nd stages of the compressor, for which it is necessary to stop the compressor in accordance with clause 11.6.
Unscrew the temperature sensors (stages 1 and 2), place them alternately in a bath with preheated oil to a depth of at least 20 mm and slowly heat in the bath until fully heated (at least 10 minutes). Switch on the compressor to run without load.
When the temperature rises to 180 ± 5 ° С, the compressor must stop with the inclusion of purge and unloading, while a light signal is emitted to the control panel (CCUS) "Overheating 1 stage." or "Overheat 2 st." depending on the accessory, the sensor being tested.
At the end of the test, screw the sensors back into place,
e) start the compressor in automatic mode:
12.2 Compressor maintenance during operation (every shift)
When servicing the compressor, you must:
a) control the oil level in the crankcase, which should not be lower than the lower mark on the oil gauge; add oil to the crankcase through a funnel with a mesh into the compressor breather;
b) as the filter elements (cloth) of the air filters become dirty, they must be washed from dirt with any washing solution;
in) every 4-5 hours of continuous operation of the compressor, purge by pressing the "Purge" button on the control panel;
G) in the event of a compressor shutdown due to an emergency protection operation, the maintenance personnel, having found out the cause of the malfunction, should shine a signal, turning off the power to the control panel. To carry out troubleshooting work, it is necessary to turn off the power to the compressor at the switchboard;
e) control the pressure according to the readings of manometers. The pressure in stage 1 should be 0.17-0.22 MPa (1.7-2.2 kgf / cm2), pressure in stage 2 - 0.78 MPa (8 kgf / cm2);
e) monitor the tightness of the connections and, if any leaks are found, eliminate them, while tightening nuts and bolts on a running compressor is not allowed;
and) at least 2 times a day it is necessary to blow the air collector; in winter time the air collector must be purged before each long stop of the compressor in order to prevent moisture freezing in it;
h) daily check the safety valves by forcibly opening them under pressure. After closing, the valve must remain completely tight;
and) check and, if necessary, adjust the belt tension with the adjusting bolt on the fan. Belt deflection under a force of 4 kgf/cm should be within 15 ± 20 mm;
to) check the tightness of the nuts on the impeller and fan shaft.
12.3 When working on manual control in the cases provided for in clause 7.4. it is necessary to carry out measures in accordance with paragraph 12.1 and paragraph 12.2 a), b), c) and e-l), while monitoring the pressure must be regular.
12.4 Stopping the compressor
12.4.1. The compressor is stopped in accordance with clause 11.6.
12.4.2 . If the compressor operates in an unheated room and does not use the oils specified in paragraph 11.1, during the winter season, when stopping for a long time, it is necessary to drain the oil from the crankcase.
