How to fix mini roller blinds on plastic windows. Ergonomic roller blinds: how to mount, all installation methods How to install roller blinds on windows
Roller blinds are one of the most popular modern solutions interior window decoration for various purposes. Such curtains are versatile and easily fit into a variety of styles and styles. decoration interiors. They "suit" and minimalism, and classics, and avant-garde, and even exotic. The main thing is to choose the right material according to texture and color.
Structural solutions for roller blinds
In principle, the design of all roller blinds is the same. A special roller is mounted in the upper window part, on which the curtain material is wound during the lifting process. When lowered, the curtain looks like a flat sheet covering (completely or not) the glass.
- Chain control unit;
- Pipe (cloth winding shaft);
- A plumb line of fabric;
- Plumb plug;
- Rubber compressor;
- Circuit connector universal;
- The control circuit is continuous.
The movement of the curtain itself is provided by a special built-in lifting mechanism - it lowers and raises the fabric panel, and also fixes it in the required position.
Classification of roller blinds
All modern roller blinds can be quite clearly classified according to:
- design features of the built-in mechanism;
- properties and features of curtain fabric;
- and intended purpose.
There are several groups of roller blinds:
Usually, attic structures- small structures, manually operated. But in general, there are both spring and chain mechanisms controlled remotely. They can also be equipped with any roller blinds made to order according to individual specifications.
Electric curtains are very helpful to users in situations of difficult direct access to roll structures, or, more precisely, to their mechanisms. For example, in vegetable greenhouses, swimming pools or in rooms with windows, the so-called "second light".
How to choose textiles for roller blinds
In some photos, roller blinds on the windows look very attractive. And potential customers have a completely legitimate question - how to choose the right fabric for roller blinds, so that at home (in the office, etc.) it turns out as beautifully as in advertising on websites and in booklets.
Just taking a fabric that is absolutely identical to what you saw and liked is not always an option. In a particular interior, such material may not look at all. Therefore, it is necessary to approach the solution of the aesthetic issue in a different way. And to begin with, to figure out what kind of textile is generally used to create roller blinds of various designs.
Firstly, the fabrics used for the production of roller blinds must have the following production and performance characteristics:
- special ease;
- maximum web stability;
- and fade resistance.
Day-night roller blinds can be supplied in cassette or open type roller systems. Them main feature lies in the fact that they are able to regulate the illumination of the room not only due to their own movement and the level of fixation of the canvas, but also by changing the light transmission capacity of the material used.
Such curtains are a kind of screen in two layers of a special fabric consisting of horizontal stripes of different textile densities - solid and sparse (almost transparent). The “day” mode provides for the imposition of such bands, and the “night” mode provides for an offset. And it turns out that the roll screen of any day-night curtain looks either striped or solid.
Interior designers give the following general advice to those who choose the fabric and design of roller blinds:
- The appearance of such curtains should be consistent with the general interior style of a particular room.
- Roller blinds should harmoniously fit into the existing layout and correspond to the area of \u200b\u200bthe room (for example, heavy dark canvases in tiny rooms look ridiculous).
- A fabric with an ornament will look especially impressive in a monophonic finishing, as well as furniture environment.
- In colorful wallpaper and upholstery, a bright ornament with a rich patterned solution will be lost and look out of place.
- Monochromatic roller blinds need color interior support. That is, there must be some other elements (upholstery, accessories, etc.) of the same color or shades (if the latter are acceptable).
It must be borne in mind that plain curtains are universal in terms of use in roll structures. For the most part, they are hardly noticeable in the setting, unless they are a contrasting spot (spots), a semantic accent. In other cases, they harmoniously “merge” into the overall design, elegantly support the style idea and provide light protection. In addition, they are often assigned the function of lighting control.
Installation of roller blinds
In principle, installing roller blinds is a simple matter. Quality installation it is quite possible to do it on your own. Especially when it comes to modern plastic (or wooden - no difference) window structures.
In building supermarkets today, special kits of ready-made roller blinds with a mounting kit are on sale. Some can be fixed with self-tapping screws, for others special fasteners are provided. Are there roller blinds? plastic windows without drilling parts, the installation of which is carried out using double-sided adhesive tape.
Ready-made kits are provided detailed instructions. And if you strictly follow it, then the installation of any ready-made roller blinds will be quick and without problems.
Installation operations must be carried out strictly in stages and in sequence:
If the curtain is placed on the so-called "blind window", then all its elements are also installed on self-tapping screws. But in principle, the process of installing ready-made roller blinds is very simple and can be performed even by a person who has never dealt with anything like this before.
Curtain-drapery alternative
Obviously roller blinds various kinds and types - this is a great alternative to the usual curtains for all curtains. And such curtains have a lot of advantages:
- ample opportunities for regulating lighting in the room;
- free access to the windowsill;
- ease of care;
- variety of artistic solutions;
- ease of installation;
- simple management;
- low cost.
Modern roller blinds are a great option for decorating windows in bedrooms, children's rooms, and kitchens. Yes, and in the most luxurious living rooms you can often find just such curtain designs. After all, the fabrics in them can be ordered the most expensive, elegantly refined. For commercial premises, roller blinds are also best option. Simple, visually appealing and does not require any special care. That is why roller blind structures are installed today in many administrative, public, utility and even industrial premises.
Sometimes roller blinds are installed in addition to traditional curtains. But then they must be chosen especially carefully. Interior designers combine, for example, bright patterned curtains on curtains with plain fabrics "in tone" for rolled sheets. Or they use the same matter, but "play" with the form. It turns out incredibly effective!
Today you can choose roller blinds for every taste and budget. And they will really decorate the windows. A logical and cozy completion of the created environment of any style.
To see how roller blinds are installed on plastic windows, you can watch this video review:
Window decoration with roller blinds is one of the most modern ways its decoration. On sale there is a wide variety of models, colors, textures of these products. When purchasing them, the question immediately arises: how to fix roller blinds on plastic windows?
The recent renovation in the house “finally shook out” the owners of the house, and therefore many have a great desire to save on the services of specialists and do the installation themselves. We hasten to please you: installation does not require complex tools and special skills. With no experience, you can easily cope with this task by looking at the photos and videos in this article.
On a note: you purchased a product, and at home, suddenly, you found that there were not enough parts (and this happens). Start looking at vendors. Do not lose the check, and all claims - within two weeks. If the deadlines are gone, and the “extreme” ones are not found, you will have to buy fasteners from the fittings again.
Depending on the shape and size of the window, the installation method is selected. The owners must express their wishes even when ordering these products, because the dimensions directly depend on the method of attachment.
From what design you chose, we determine the installation option:
- Under the window to the wall. Good for small window without a window sill, and a long cornice on which it will be attached will visually enlarge the opening;
- To the ceiling. Roller shutters, matched to the color of the wall, small room increase visually;
- To the window opening. So the window sill will be freely available;
- To frame. Fits well into deep and wide window openings;
- To the doors. The window is accessible, easy to open for ventilation.
What errors are allowed during installation
Important: be careful about the installation methods. If you need to install the box on the wall, and you have brackets for the window sash in the kit, you have thrown "money down the drain": the curtain will not install, the size will not fit.
Before we go into detail about the different installation methods, let's immediately exclude possible errors that are repeated, despite the fact that the design is quite simple:
- When choosing roller shutters, keep in mind that the distance from the edge of one connection to the edge of the second is the total width, and the width of the curtain is already a separate characteristic (see photo);
- So that after installation it does not turn out that the canvas does not allow the frames to be opened, or interferes with the operation of the handle, after choosing the position where the structure will stand, turn these same handles in all directions, open and close the sash several times;
- Consider the full length of the canvases so that after installation the top does not turn out to be raised so high that it does not close the window from below and opens a view into the house, allowing the sun's rays to pass unhindered;
- If you have chosen the installation option on adhesive tape, then before installation, do not neglect the rule of washing and degreasing both surfaces well. Otherwise, your design at the most inopportune moment may fall on your head.
Take note: do not overestimate your eye. Uneven fastening is due to neglect of the level. It's a shame and annoying to have to redo everything later.
Let's start installation
For your information: when buying roller blinds, be aware that there are models on which it is impossible to remove the control unit. In the end, it may turn out that you have purchased two right-handed or left-handed products that prevent each other from opening the window, and even look ugly.
Roller shutters are spectacular in any room. They are practical and do not require special care. With proper fasteners, they can faithfully serve for a long time. In this article, we will clearly demonstrate how to properly install a roller blind to a plastic window.
There are different ways to attach roller blinds:
- Drilling a wall, window opening or ceiling, followed by installing wooden or plastic dowels into the holes and mounting the brackets with screws or self-tapping screws;
- Drilling the frame, fixing the holders with self-tapping screws;
- Installation on clips (brackets - clamps), without using a screwdriver or drill;
- Sticking on adhesive tape or other adhesive tape, without drilling.
Method number 1: installation on an opening window without drilling
Consider the method of installing roller shutters on opening sashes. When done for the first time, it seems to be an extraordinarily complicated process. But, in fact, everything is quite simple. Even a schoolboy can handle it.
The kit includes:
- Chain and lifting device with bushings;
- Arms of the mechanism with a cross, clamps and side plugs;
- Guide line;
- Chain stops that fix the position at the top and bottom;
- Mounting board and double-sided tape;
- Magnets-fixators
We add the parts in the same order as in the photo.
Let's start assembling. Detailed explanations in the description below. To avoid sagging, manufacturers recommend using guide lines. This will allow the curtain to fit snugly against the frame. We cut it in half, skip one piece into the hole of the bracket, where you fix the roller blind and tie it with a double knot. We thread the fishing line several times so that it does not pull out when pulled. We do the same with the second piece. We connect the rest of the elements one by one. First, the first half is assembled, and then, similarly, the second, but in a mirror order. To thread the chain into the chain mechanism, you will need a screwdriver or any thin object, in order to push the chain into the mechanism in the first circle, then it can already be pulled as far as necessary.
We determine on which side the chain for adjusting the opening of the roller shutter will be located. If on the right, then install the mechanism, as in the photo, if not, then change the simple axis, and the axis with the adjustment element, in some places. Insert roller holders. We apply the curtain to the frame in order to mark the places where the brackets are attached. Mark the attachment points so that they do not interfere with either the curtain or the frame. Tip: For your own safety, it is better to glue the brackets to the frame.
We open the window, and try on how the window will close with two brackets hung. If everything is fine, we hang the structure in the center and clamp the holders with our hands. We close the window. We collect the bottom. Insert the weighting bar. It must be equipped with side holes for attaching the fishing line. Pass this same fishing line through the holes and tie it with a double knot again. Similarly, at the bottom we pinch the holders on both sides with our fingers. We pull the fishing line a little and turn the handle to finally fix it. We assemble the roller shutter adjustment element. determine where we want the bottom of the chain to be. If necessary, it must be cut. We start the chain in the mechanism and connect the clips. We stretch the structure and install it in the place we need on a double-sided adhesive tape - the base, which we put into the mounting board (pictured). You can do the opposite: first connect the base and the mounting board, and then, when pulling, glue the base in the right place so that it does not touch the canvas. Woo ala! All is ready! And remember: in order for the roller curtains to last longer, they must be raised and lowered only with the help of a chain or weight (control mechanism.)
Method number 2. Installation on a blind window using double-sided tape
Note: double-sided tape is not omnipotent. It is pointless and dangerous to mount it to a wall or ceiling. Therefore, our hopes that drilling can be dispensed with are not always justified.
For installation, you will need a good double-sided tape. As noted above, be sure to degrease all surfaces with which you have to work during installation.
The frame must be free of condensation, completely dry. After all surfaces (both the frame and platforms) have been treated with degreasers, stick adhesive tape on the platforms from the smooth side. Fasteners click into the platform. Using a level, mark the installation locations with a pencil. So that the canvas does not warp, it is better to keep the landmark on the horizon, and not on the window sill or frame. Attach the fasteners in the marked place.
The plug and chain mechanism must be inserted into the pipe. Decide right away whether the curtain will rise / fall on the left or right. Here, where it is convenient for you, place this control mechanism there. Make sure that in this very mechanism the open part is clearly directed downwards. Insert the chain mechanism and plug into the mounts. Connect the curtain to the pipe. Insert a roller with a canvas into them. When you decide on the length of the canvas, you need to install limiters on the chain. To mount the magnets at the level of the bottom bar, make markings on the frame. Put metal washers (hardware) on tape and also fasten to the frame. Having attached the assembled curtain to the window frame, mark the fasteners. Glue the pads to the degreased surface of the frame. Press them firmly with your hand and fix for a few seconds, and then insert the pipe with the curtain into the mounts. When you need it, you can easily remove and install the curtain back, thanks to the spring on the plug.
Tip: Are you satisfied with the end result?! Then remove the structure and let the fasteners stick thoroughly, without load. After a day, insert the roll back and be sure that it will never fall on your head.
Method number 3: installation with drilling
Of course, it is better to fasten roller shutters with self-tapping screws to windows made of wood. It may happen that you want to change the light protection structures for others, but the attachment points will not match. On the wooden surface unnecessary holes are easier to putty and paint over than on metal or plastic.
And there, decide for yourself, as they say: "the master is the master." We offer you instructions on how to fix roller blinds on plastic windows with self-tapping screws:
We will need:
- Self-tapping screws with a drill, screws, drill 1.5 mm;
- Line, line tensioner, line hook, limiters for setting the range of movement of the canvas, a set of fasteners roller blind assembly and guide strips;
- Phillips screwdrivers, screwdriver, pencil, wire cutters.
We assemble a set of curtain fasteners. We connect them with the ends, namely, with the shaft.
Focusing on the horizontal part of the glazing bead, we apply the assembled product to the frame so that the fasteners rest against the frame with the plane, and the web weighting bar and the control chain are directed downwards. We expose the product in width, in the center, relative to the glazing beads, and in height at the level of the upper part of the upper glazing bead. We mark with a pencil the places on the frame where the fasteners will be fixed with self-tapping screws. We fasten the fasteners with them to the intended places with the help of a screwdriver. We snap the axial mounting bracket towards the frame.
Similar actions are performed on both sidesWe attach the curtain shaft to the installed mount. On the other side of the shaft, we attach the second fastener and set its upper part in line with the upper part of the upper glazing bead. In width, we expand the mount by 2 mm from the shaft and mark the attachment points with self-tapping screws with a pencil.
Backlash checkWe fasten the mount with self-tapping screws at the intended places using a screwdriver. We check whether the shaft of the fasteners is pinched, since for the normal operation of the product, there must be a slight horizontal play.
Fastening a roller blind to plastic windows: fixing a fishing lineWe measure the fishing line 10 cm more than the height of the product to be installed and cut off two pieces. We stretch the fishing line into a special hole located in the lower inner part of the bracket and tie it into a knot. We connect the hook for the fishing line with the plug of the lower weighting agent so that it is on the side that is closer to the window
Similar actions on both sidesHaving lowered the curtain, we pass the fishing line into the hook. We expose the upper part of the fishing line tensioner relative to the lower horizontal line of the lower bead, and in the center, relative to the hole for the fishing line, in the upper bracket so that the fishing line is hidden behind the curtain. We mark the mounting points of the tensioner on the window frame. We drill a hole, fasten the tensioner. We thread the line into the tensioner from top to bottom and turn the tensioner, moderately pulling the line. Do all the same steps on the second side and make sure that the fishing line does not pinch the product in width. We lower the curtain so that it overlaps the screws for fastening the fishing line tensioner and, in this position, we snap the limiter at the base of the chain, which is closer to you. Remove excess line, leaving 10mm length. Ready! You have protected yourself from the sun and decorated your home. Separately, let's talk about the correct installation of roller shutters on metal brackets.
Please note: installation must be carried out on a perfectly flat surface. Any unevenness will have its negative effect on the installation of the structure. Therefore, if you see bumps or dents, it is better to immediately align them or look for other attachment points.
Installing roller shutters with a drill and a screwdriver is a laborious method. Accurate calculation when marking is very important. You don't need extra holes.
You will need:
- Drill and screwdriver;
- Plumb and level;
- Screwdriver, hammer;
- Dowels and screws;
- Pencil, marker or pen;
- Glue (PVA or liquid nails);
- Stepladder (well, or a table, chair).
Important to know: before mounting the metal bracket, you need to make sure that the length of the leg is sufficient so that the roll does not touch the wall: 1 cm + ½ of the radius of the shaft: for normal operation, this should be the required distance from the wall to the edge of the roller shutter.
wall mount
Tip: the brackets should not be installed close to the wall. This will interfere with unfolding and folding the roll.
The structures are installed on the wall to insulate the room, and the window visually seems larger. And sometimes it is necessary to hide some defects.
We offer you another instruction on how to fix roller blinds to the wall:
- Find the center of the window and, above the upper slope, attach the assembled roller shutter with brackets to the wall and disconnect them from the roller;
- Install the roller shutter clearly in level and center;
- Through the holes of the brackets, mark the attachment points with a pencil, drill holes and install dowels, fix them with a screwdriver;
- If you have a roll of fishing line, then use the instructions above;
- Install the shaft in the brackets, secure it with clamps, put the web movement limiters on the chain.
Ceiling mount
Tip: if the horizon is broken due to uneven ceilings, then in order to level the structure, you can put a wooden or plastic lining of the desired thickness under the bracket.
When products are installed on the ceiling, then:
- The room visually seems to be elongated;
- Roller blinds can be either up to the level of the window sill or longer;
- Metal brackets are used, the same as for the wall, only they turn with holes to the ceiling.
Mounting on the upper slope of the window opening
The slopes are not always straight. They also may not be horizontal in relation to the ceiling or floor. Therefore, so that the roller blind does not turn out to be skewed and works well, be sure to use a level when marking.
Besides:
- Products must be selected according to their size;
- For mounting, use metal brackets and follow the instructions above;
- Brackets on the surface of wood, you can only make self-tapping screws, do without dowels and drilling.
What should be the care
There are several ways to do this:
Roller blinds gained great popularity after the appearance of plastic windows, which replaced wooden frames. The mass distribution of roller blinds is due to the fact that they are quickly installed, do not require special care, but at the same time they look stylish and fit almost any interior. This type of curtains combines decorativeness and functionality, therefore they are mounted above balcony sections and stained-glass windows, which cannot always be closed with bulky and heavy curtains and curtains.
Another advantage of roller blinds is their installation, which is carried out without violating the integrity of the metal-plastic structure. Special fastenings allow you to do without the use of a drill and drilling through holes. Roller blinds can be installed independently, without resorting to the help of specialists.
What are roller blinds
Manufacturers produce several types of roller blinds for plastic windows that can be installed without drilling additional holes. Let's take a closer look at each model.
Differ in availability and low cost. The shaft, on which the woven fabric is wound, remains open. At the bottom of the canvas there is a plastic weighting agent, due to which the curtain falls down, filling the window frame with itself. Roller blinds "mini" are suitable for window structures of any complexity, they do not take up much space and are easy to clean.
They look a little different: the rotating shaft is located under the decorative box. In the folded state, such a model is almost invisible. In addition, the woven material under the box is not exposed to the sun's rays, which helps to avoid fading of the fabric. The shade and design of the box are selected based on the wishes of the customer.
This is a combined model that is mounted on each individual leaf, which allows them to be opened and closed without hindrance. The box, under which there is a folded curtain, is located at the top of the sash. Mini-cassette curtains are of two types:
- Curtain model UNI 1 is suitable for wide glazing beads (a narrow long rail made of wood or plastic, which serves to strengthen the glass in the window frame). The guides are fastened to the inside of the glazing beads. UNI 1 fit snugly and are practically in contact with the glass.
- The UNI 2 curtain model has a similar design, but the main difference is that the guides are attached to the outer part of the glazing bead. Up casement there is a box.
Important! Domestic manufacturers of roller blinds produce high quality products that are in no way inferior to their foreign counterparts.
What to look for when buying roller blinds
Roller blinds are single and double. The second option is the model called "day-night". To achieve the desired degree of illumination of the room allows an unusual canvas, consisting of transparent and dense areas. The curtain becomes daylight and skips a large number of sunlight when composed of alternating bands. To make a night curtain and create twilight in the room even in clear sunny weather, it is enough to raise or lower one of the canvases. The play of light is possible due to small gaps through which light from the street barely passes. The color of dense sections of the canvas is selected according to the wishes of the customer. Transparent stripes are best combined with white.
Roller blinds differ from each other in the degree of protection from ultraviolet rays. Roller blinds from transparent materials do not interfere with the ingress of natural light, they rather perform a decorative function. Sheer curtains suitable for apartments and houses with picturesque views of the city park, sea, mountains, etc.
Translucent roller blinds are installed on windows facing north. Sunlight becomes less bright and intense and more comfortable for the human eye.
In the manufacture of curtains that do not transmit ultraviolet, dense materials are used that can not only create pitch darkness during the daytime, but also isolate the room from extraneous sounds coming from the street. This is ideal for a bedroom located on our sunny side. With such impenetrable curtains, you will not have to wake up with the first rays of the sun.
To achieve almost one hundred percent opacity of roller blinds, Blackout material, consisting of polyester fibers with double satin weaves, allows. It does not let in bright ultraviolet rays and cold, and is also resistant to pollution and fire.
Today, manufacturers produce roller blinds equipped with an electric drive. The automatic control system allows you to wind the web on the shaft using a remote control. From now on, the degree of intensity luminous flux can be adjusted without getting up from the couch.
Installing roller blinds on PVC windows without drilling the structure
Each model of roller blinds has its own installation nuances. The similarity lies in the fact that "mini" roller blinds, cassette blinds and mini-cassette blinds are mounted without the use of a drill or other power tools.
At the first stage, all components for the roller blind are prepared. For greater convenience, you should lay them out on a horizontal surface so as not to lose small parts.
The shaft with the canvas is held on the sash with plastic brackets. Semicircular parts have recesses and protruding parts that are connected to each other.
Important! Ready-made roller blinds are only suitable for standard windows. For window openings Unusually shaped curtains are made to order.
Installing a mini roller blind on an opening sash
For a roller blind designed for an opening window sash, you will need a shaft, a canvas, lifting mechanism, working due to the movement of the chain, clips for fixing and double-sided adhesive tape.
- Adhesive tape is glued to the brackets so that they are attached to the window sash not only due to their curved shape. This ensures the reliability and stability of the design of the roller blind. Adhesive tape is glued only on a fat-free and dry surface. Degreasing allows you to clean plastic from fatty films and other contaminants that prevent a tight connection of parts.
- Next, the brackets are attached to the holders. The latter have protruding spikes and grooves. The connection of parts is carried out with the help of additional fastening.
- A lifting mechanism with a chain and holders with brackets are installed on the shaft.
- On the next step roller blind alignment. The structure is hooked to the top of the sash using brackets. This allows you to properly hang the shaft with the canvas on the window.
- Using a simple pencil, the exact location of the brackets is indicated. The outlined borders will allow the brackets with double-sided tape to be glued evenly and as tightly as possible to the frame.
- The window sash, on which the roller blind will be placed, is degreased with medical alcohol. Acetone and other aggressive substances should not be applied to PVC surfaces. As a result of a chemical reaction, the material may turn yellow. Dry the degreased surface thoroughly.
- The protective film is removed from the adhesive tape located on the bracket. The brackets themselves are hooked to the top of the window sash and pressed tightly.
- The clamps that the brackets are equipped with snap into place until they stop.
- We do the same with the second bracket located at the opposite end. window frame.
Fasten the clamp of the second bracket
- The lifting mechanism of roller blinds is installed on that part of the bracket, which has a spike with a gear.
- The shaft with the canvas is inserted between the fixed brackets. Plastic is quite fragile material, so you should act as carefully as possible.
- On the last step check how the roller blind goes up and down. The canvas completely covers the glass and rolls up due to the rotation of the shaft. The shaft begins to move with the help of a chain.
Installing a mini roller blind on a blind window sash
Installation of a roller blind for a blind sash is carried out without brackets-hooks. For installation, you will need side brackets with a gear.
- Before installing roller blinds on plastic windows, double-sided adhesive tape is glued to the grooved plates. The plastic surface of the parts is pre-degreased with the help of medical alcohol.
- The protective film is removed from the tape, the side brackets are connected to the plates.
- The photo shows how the details of the roller blind look, assembled together.
- The lifting mechanism is mounted on the gear, and the side brackets are inserted into the shaft.
- The assembled roller blind is applied to the sash and with a simple pencil it is noted how the structure will finally be located. The brackets are only held in place with adhesive tape.
- The junction of the surface of the window and plates with holders is carefully prepared. To do this, it is enough to treat the plastic with alcohol.
- The protective film is removed from the tape, the brackets are tightly applied to the window frame.
- At the end, a lifting chain mechanism is installed on the shaft with the canvas. The chain is put on from the side on which the gear is located. Next, the roller blind is folded and unfolded several times in order to check the health of the structure.
Important! Roller blinds are much easier to care for than blinds. Dirt and dust accumulate on vertical or horizontal plates and are difficult to remove. Roller blinds can be cleaned with detergents and periodically wipe with a piece of soft cloth.
Detailed instructions for installing cassette roller blinds
This model differs from others in the presence of guides. Many manufacturers have simplified the installation of cassette roller blinds by applying double-sided adhesive tape to the parts in advance. When installing a roller blind, it remains only to remove the protective film. These models are already almost assembled, and the canvas itself is under the box.
- The cassette roller blind box is attached to the top of the window frame. The surface of the double-glazed window is preliminarily degreased. Using a simple pencil, you need to mark up. The thinnest lines drawn with a pencil will allow you to hang a box with a canvas in the center. In no case should you hang a box with a curtain without first trying it on: there is a risk that the curtain will not fall into the guides located on both sides.
- The protective film is removed from the double-sided tape glued to the box. The entire structure should be pressed tightly against the top of the window surface.
- The method of gluing the guides is determined by the type of roller blind. Some are installed on the outside of the glazing bead, others - on the inside. Those designed for the inside are pressed tightly against the glass. The photo shows the installation of curtains with guides passing from the outside.
- Guides with adhesive tape are first applied to the box. If there is no double-sided adhesive tape, then it is applied independently after preliminary degreasing of the surfaces. It is necessary to treat the side in contact with the sash with alcohol.
- Next, 3-4 centimeters of the protective film are removed from the adhesive tape.
- The guide for the curtains is mounted in a box and connected to a double-glazed window.
- The guide must be held with one hand and the remaining protective film removed with the other hand.
- After the tape is cleared of the film, the guide is pressed tightly against the glazing bead. Do the same with the second guide.
- A roller blind is placed in the fixed guides. A ring is put on the lifting mechanism to fix the chain. It will prevent slippage on the gear.
- At the end, the roller blind is opened and closed to check the serviceability of the mechanism and the correct installation of all parts and components.
Installing cassette roller blinds on plastic windows without drilling is easier than other models. The main thing is to act extremely carefully and carefully. Correctly made markup - a guarantee correct installation boxes with curtains and guides. No special tools are required for installation of the structure, the whole process will take no more than fifteen minutes.
Roller blinds are a very popular and stylish interior detail that looks spectacular in any room. Today it is one of the most relevant and popular methods of equipping plastic windows.
Such curtains are easy to install, practical, do not require complex maintenance and when choosing quality materials and proper fasteners will serve you for many years.
In this article, we will tell you about how to install roller blinds on plastic windows with your own hands, and we will also demonstrate this process in a video. We hope that here you will find answers to all your questions and get a lot of useful tips that will help you in your work.
traditional views
Mounting roller blinds on plastic windows can be carried out in a variety of ways. different ways. Today there are so many of them that it is not possible to talk in detail about each of these varieties. Let's give an example of the two most popular types of fastening, each of which, if you have certain knowledge and skills, you can easily do it yourself:
- The most familiar and traditional way lies in the fact that the fastening is made on the window opening. At the same time, the canvas is fixed either on the surface of the wall or on the ceiling, and freely falls along the plastic window. This method is very popular, however, it is associated with certain risks. In order to mount the roller blinds to the ceiling or wall, you will have to drill several holes into which you will insert the mounting profiles. If you choose this method and want to handle the installation yourself, you will have to be extremely careful and attentive in order not to make a mistake and avoid unwanted damage (you can watch the process of such work by watching the proposed video).
- The second common fastening method is very similar in its basic principle to the previous one. The only difference is that the canvas is fixed not on the wall or ceiling, but directly on the window. It is usually attached to the frame. The type of fastener used is the same. Several holes are drilled into the surface of the frame, into which special fasteners are subsequently inserted. When choosing this method, you must also be extremely careful, because when drilling, you risk damaging the surface of the window and ruining it. If you are not confident in your abilities, it is better to turn to the help of specialists who will cope with this work efficiently and professionally.
Both of these methods are very relevant today and are used everywhere. They have a lot of advantages, but their main disadvantage can be considered insufficient practicality. To hang roller blinds on windows, you will have to break the integrity of either the wall, or the ceiling, or the frame. This is fraught with undesirable consequences. Any careless movement can lead to an error that cannot be corrected later. This is especially dangerous if you have just purchased new expensive windows that are under warranty.
However, this installation method also has many advantages. The main one is durability and reliability. You can be sure that such curtains will be very firmly fixed. Thanks to this excellent quality, both of these methods are so relevant and in demand today.
Mounting without drilling
If you want to install roller blinds without risk, we advise you to use the installation method without drilling. This method is the safest, unlike the options described above. In addition, it is very simple and accessible, so almost everyone can cope with such work, and it will not take a long time.
Installation without drilling is carried out using a special construction adhesive or adhesive tape. Today, dozens of such materials are available for free sale, which differ in their cost and characteristic features. We advise you to stop buying cheap compounds and choose a better and more reliable option that will provide you with a strong and durable fixation.
Choosing between adhesive tape and glue, be guided by your personal preferences. As practice shows, both of these materials (provided that you choose a proven and good composition) can be very practical and have excellent adhesive abilities. Buy special options that are designed to fix such structures without drilling.
Installation in this case can be carried out both on the surface of a wall or ceiling, and directly on the frame. The choice of this or that method depends solely on your decision, as well as on the features of the layout and the design mechanism. In any case, fixing the canvas without drilling using professional building glue or double-sided tape seems to be the easiest, safest and fastest way.
