We make a table from boards with our own hands: instructions for work. Independent production of an outdoor wooden table for a summer residence: the simplest and most interesting options Table from a floor board
It is difficult to overestimate the importance of the table, both in terms of domestic comfort and any interior design of an apartment or cottage. Moreover, a kitchen without a table loses its functionality, so the table is deservedly considered a necessary piece of furniture for this room. Huge selection various models tables, which can be purchased in furniture stores, does not detract from the desire of some of us to make a table from the boards with our own hands - according to our own project, with the individuality and charm of a valuable thing self made.
The fact that you can choose any model, the shape of the tabletop and dimensions, as long as they are comfortable and suitable for the room in which the table will be installed, gives a special charm to the prospect of making a table with your own hands from the boards.
A few examples below will help you make your choice and help in the manufacture of the model that suits you. In addition, drawings on how to make a simple table from boards will help to more clearly present the future design and assembly processes.
Table 1. Sturdy and stable dining table for home
To make this table, we need tools such as a jigsaw, an electric drill, a screwdriver, a grinder. You can, of course, do without some of the above "helpers" by using a screwdriver and a bar with sandpaper fixed on it - just such a replacement will cause an increase in time and effort spent on making the table.
The material for the manufacture of the countertop is a grooved board, at least 30 mm thick. The tongue provides a tight connection of the boards, increasing the life of the table, since with this method of docking, the likelihood of food residues getting into the gaps between the boards is practically eliminated.
For the manufacture of the remaining elements of the table, an ordinary 50 mm board is taken.
- Boards, if they are not processed, must be thoroughly sanded - in addition to aesthetic considerations, this is required by elementary safety and practicality: a sanded board is easier to paint, and much less paint is required for such a surface;
- Cut out the details of the table:
- Tongue-and-groove boards for countertops, 230 cm long - 6 pcs.;
- Spacer board about 170 cm long;
- Bars for fastening the tabletop (their length must match the width of the tabletop, or be slightly less) - 4 pcs.;
- Bars for legs - 4 pcs., 2 pieces of board for their base.
To improve the appearance of the product, saw the ends of the fastening bars at an angle of 45 degrees, carefully cut the tongues of the outer boards, and slightly round the corners of the table top with a jigsaw.
Table 2. The simplest table for a summer house or gazebo
Perhaps there is nothing easier than making this version of the table from the boards with your own hands, shown in photo 5. Table dimensions: 1200x740 mm, height - 750 mm.
For its manufacture you will need:
- Edged board, smoothly planed 40x140 mm;
- 2 bars 40x60x740 mm;
- 8 confirmations 70-75 mm long; self-tapping screws of various lengths;
- Chisel and planer;
- Electric jigsaw, drill with a special drill for konfipmatov, furniture key, grinder.
The first step is to assemble the countertop by fastening the boards with two transverse bars, placing them at a distance of 120 mm from both ends of the future countertop and using self-tapping screws, up to 80-85 mm long (so as not to reach the outer surface of the countertop). If ordinary boards are used, in the manufacture of countertops it is better to leave small, only 10 mm, gaps of the same width between them: through slots will prevent contamination of the countertop with food residues, without interfering with cleaning and without reducing its aesthetic appeal.
To achieve the same width gaps in the countertop, it is necessary during its assembly to lay a centimeter standard made of lath or other solid material between the boards.
Second step: assembling the table legs. On the chipboard sheet or plywood we draw a template - a rectangle with sides of 600mm (width) and 690mm (length). First, we make one pair of legs, then the second one in the same way: we lay 2 boards on the template in an X-shape, mark the lines of the upper and lower cuts of the legs, as well as the lines of their intersection - in this place the boards will be fastened together. We saw off the ends of the boards along the marked lines, and at the intersections with a chisel we select recesses 20 mm deep to connect "in half a tree". We fasten the legs with 35 mm self-tapping screws;
Third step- final assembly of the table. The drawing shows in detail how to make this simple table from the boards: thanks to him, the assembly process will not cause difficulties (Figure 6).
Furniture made from solid wood has been highly valued at all times. Now it can rightfully be considered a luxury item. However, anyone who has elementary carpentry skills and sufficient desire can make table from an array with minimal investment.
Furniture should be durable, reliable, beautiful, correspond to its functional purpose.
Of course, buying a finished product is much easier and faster, but making it yourself has a number of advantages:
- Price. The cost of a table natural wood high enough.
However, when made at home, it will decrease significantly.
- Quality. By selecting the wood yourself, the risk of using low grade materials is reduced.
You can choose exactly the breed that will meet all the necessary technical and aesthetic requirements.
- Durability directly related to the build quality of the product. Creating furniture for yourself, even a novice carpenter will assemble the structure neatly and reliably.
Pre-treatment of all boards with special protective equipment guarantees a long service life.
- Design . In spite of huge selection in stores, situations often arise when everything is pleasant, but some small detail would be desirable to change.
By making a table yourself, you can take into account all the nuances and create the perfect model for yourself.
- And of course, there is nothing more pleasant than to admire and enjoy your creation every day.
This is a great opportunity not only to save money, but also to bring a piece of your soul into the house.
Choosing a table model
Before proceeding with the selection of material and the actual creation of a piece of furniture, it is necessary to decide on its design. The model directly depends on the functional purpose and features of the room.
For example, if the room is small, it is better to choose compact products.
In this case, a neat round table on 1 leg.
For a spacious dining room, living room, the ideal option is a classic rectangular table.
It can also be an oval roomy table with a massive underframe.
If there is a need for a product with a large capacity, but the room does not imply the presence of large items, you should think about a sliding or folding design.
If necessary, the tabletop is extended.
For novice craftsmen, it is easier to make a square or rectangular piece of furniture on 4 medium-sized legs.
Such a table is made without additional mechanisms.
What type of wood is best?
Each type of wood has its own characteristics that should be considered when designing furniture.
Since ancient times, people have considered wood as the main building material.
For a more convenient and detailed comparison of the characteristics, we turn to the table.
Table 1. The most common types of wood used in the furniture industry
Name | Average density kg/m 3 | Shear strength | Characteristics |
Oak | 700 | 9,9 | Very durable breed, resistant to decay processes. It has a beautiful, noble texture. |
Beech | 670 | 12,1 | Representative of hard rocks, easy to process, supple. However, it is prone to decay, which requires careful antiseptic treatment. When drying, it deforms more than oak. |
Larch | 660 | 9,8 | Durable, resistant to decay and deformation, has a tendency to crack. Therefore, it is not recommended for rooms in which changes in humidity and temperature are constantly observed. |
Birch | 630 | 9,0 | Sufficiently strong, resistant to deformations, chips and cracking, however, with constant humidity, it has a tendency to rot. This disadvantage is easily neutralized with the help of antiseptic treatment, since the tree is easily impregnated with special compounds. |
Pine | 500 | 7,4 | Durable, soft, lightweight, slightly deformed. Due to its natural characteristics, it is malleable when working. Easily impregnated with antiseptic compounds. |
Spruce | 450 | 6,8 | Less even texture compared to pine, has more knots. Not so well treated with an antiseptic, more capricious in processing. |
Aspen | 380 | 6,5 | The texture is not particularly expressive, the color is whitish-green. Due to its softness, it does not crack, it is easily processed, it is not very susceptible to decay. However, on the surfaces of this material, traces of mechanical influences may remain (for example, if a child draws with strong pressure on a pen or pencil) |
Fir | 370 | 5,9 | Soft rock, does not tolerate moisture well, is subject to decay processes, therefore it is not suitable for furniture that will be used outdoors or indoors with high humidity. It is easily processed, which will simplify the work of novice carpentry masters. |
So, having carefully studied the table, it becomes clear that soft woods (aspen, fir) will be easy to work with, but during the service they can be disappointing due to their susceptibility to mechanical stress and low moisture resistance. It is better to opt for harder varieties such as pine, larch, beech and oak.
We did not consider heavy-duty wood species (hornbeam, yew, etc.), since their processing is extremely difficult at home.
Necessary materials
To make a table, you will need the following materials.
- Beam 40 mm x 40 mm for attaching the supporting part to the tabletop and giving the structure strength and stability.
- Bar 70 mm x 70 mm for the manufacture of legs. If the design provides for classic carved balusters, and the experience of wood processing does not allow you to make them yourself, in the furniture fittings store you can always choose the right option and purchase ready-made elements of the product.
- Board and for countertops (thickness not less than 40 mm).
- Glue for wood.
- Furniture dowels and confirmants.
- Antiseptic.
- Lacquer or azure for processing wood products.
The number of boards depends on their width and the expected size of the table.
Tools for the job
All tools necessary for work can be divided into 3 groups.
- Measuring tools:
- Metal ruler 50-100 cm;
- Roulette;
- Metal square;
- Manual level 50-80 cm.
Tools for creating furniture with your own hands.
- Tools for working with wooden surfaces:
- Saw / hacksaw;
- Jointer;
- Sander, sandpaper.
Required set of tools.
- Product assembly tools:
- Wedge or screw terminals;
- Mallet (suitable with both wooden and rubber heads)
- Screwdrivers with different points;
- Drill, screwdriver.
We make a wooden table with our own hands: step by step instructions
table top
Handle everything carefully boards.
Having achieved a perfectly even and smooth surface, drill holes in each end for dowels in increments of 10-12 cm (for extreme boards, they should be made only on one side).
All edges must be milled and surfaces sanded.
After thorough cleaning of chips and dust, they must be coated with special wood glue (PVA can be used).
Then the boards are fastened together using wooden dowels placed in the prepared holes.
Important! When gluing, direct the pattern in different directions. This increases the strength of the product, reduces the risk of its deformation.
When the canvas from the boards is assembled, it is necessary to dry it, fixing it with clamps.
After complete drying, cut off excess glue with a construction knife and treat the surface grinder. Treat the finished shield with a special antiseptic.
Thus, it takes one day of work to make a canvas from wood.
Underframe
Consider the process of creating a standard underframe (4 legs and a rectangular frame).
Saw off the necessary size bars for all elements, process them with a grinder or manually with sandpaper and cover with an antiseptic.
To save time, it is better to carry out the procedure in parallel with the countertop.
When the prepared elements are ready, fasten the pairs of legs to the smaller cross bars using furniture screws.
They can be pre-lubricated with glue.
Important! Self-tapping screws are screwed from the inside at an acute angle to the surface.
In the same way, fasten the legs with long bars.
Drill holes in the center of each leg to further assemble the furniture.
If you are planning to do table two-color, painting of the prepared elements should be carried out before the final assembly. If the product is the same color, assemble the structure and paint it entirely.
Final installation of the product
Lay the countertop face down on a flat, clean surface and get started:
Attach the underframe on top as it should be attached and outline with a pencil along the inside.
Mark the joints of the parts with a pitch of 200 - 230 mm on both surfaces.
Drill holes in the underframe and tabletop, remove chips from them, coat with glue and assemble the product using special furniture fasteners (as in the manufacture wooden canvas). Use a mallet if necessary.
Leave the product to dry for a day (at least 12 hours).
The final stage
When the structure is assembled, make the final polishing, apply decorative elements in accordance with the design project and cover with several layers of varnish or azure.
By following the instructions, you can easily make a wooden table with your own hands.
Important! Each coat of coating must dry completely. Therefore, the final finishing of the table will take at least 1 more day. Therefore, the process of creating your own masterpiece from the array will take you about 3-4 days.
Having spent the minimum amount of money and a few days, you will receive a reliable and durable dining room. board table and oak, pine or other material you like, and a lot of positive emotions.
So you learned how to make your own table from solid wood.

And you can do it yourself, spending quite a bit of time on it. In some cases, you may need an assistant, sometimes an extra pair of hands will not hurt.
This article is a detailed step-by-step manufacturing guide. wooden table for giving.
So that you have a choice, we offer you four options for country table projects at once - two ordinary picnic tables, a table with benches, which are a single structural unit, and, finally, a round table. You must think through all the details in advance and choose the type and size of the table that suits your needs and matches the style of decoration of your backyard.
Folding picnic tables - mobility is paramount
Folding tables are very convenient, and most importantly, practical and simple. They don't take up much space. At any moment, such a table can neatly fit folded into the garage, and if necessary, move again to the street. Furniture mobility is especially appreciated in small areas.
How to make a garden wooden table with your own hands
A dacha is the place where a master wakes up in a person, a carpenter, a carpenter, a gardener, in general, a master. Buy furniture for suburban area- a simple matter, but not everyone can make a wooden table for a summer residence with their own hands. You should immediately be ready to make a garden table with your own hands for several days. But the tips below will help you make a solid table yourself.
Today we will design a fairly simple country table with our own hands in Provencal style. Such tables not only look great, but also have a fairly reliable design. It is worth paying attention to the boards. They must be even, since the appearance of our country table will directly depend on this.
When designing a table for a summer residence, it is necessary to prepare lumber in three dimensions:
- Bearing frame - section 38 X 90 mm.
- Tabletop - section 38 X 140 mm.
- Supporting bars - section 19 X 64 mm.
- Drawing
Before starting work, the most important thing is to find it on the Internet, or to independently make drawings of a table for a summer residence with your own hands. An accurate schematic designation will allow you to select lumber that will be most suitable in cross section for the dimensions indicated on the diagram. It doesn’t matter if the dimensions don’t exactly match each other, because you can always make an adjustment with an electric planer.
- Material preparation
When deciding how to make a garden wooden table, approach the issue responsibly, as the life of the furniture will depend on this:
- purchase of blanks. Professionals advise to purchase lumber from coniferous trees, which was previously well dried. Its main advantages are:
- price;
- simplicity and ease of processing by hand;
- beautiful structure;
- glue for furniture;
- 4 X 65 mm screws;
- 3 mm drill;
- drill;
- tape measure, pencil, sandpaper for grinding.
- Further actions
We will need:
- two upper transverse beams, dimensions 38 X 90 X 978 mm;
- four legs for a country table with your own hands, size 38 X 90 X 695 mm;
- two bowstrings - 38 X 90 X 921 mm;
- one longitudinal lower and one upper beam - 38 X 90 X 1575 mm and 38 X 90 X 1473 mm, respectively;
- two pieces of braces of 38 X 90 X 772 mm;
- blanks for countertops - seven pieces, size 38 X 90 X 2337 mm;
- six support bars - 19 x 64 x 432 mm.
Tip: Start work on a level surface. It is imperative to observe the angles of joining parts. The blanks, which will later become the legs of our country table, should be cut on both sides at an angle of 10 °. The slices must be parallel. But the blanks of the bowstring, which are similarly cut at the same angle, should be cut one towards the other.
Stage 2. The legs of our country table should be attached to the cross beams and fasten this entire structure with screws. Each connection has two screws.
We fasten the bowstring diagonally to the leg from the inside, fastening the structure with two screws in the same way.
The lower beam must be connected to each other by both bowstrings. As mentioned above, with the help of screws.
Further, in the upper longitudinal and transverse beams, holes are first made for a fastener, called a dowel, after which we again diagonally connect the blanks of our country wooden table with the available screws.
Tip: when connecting all the elements, use glue for extra strength. Remove excess immediately.
We plant the braces on the screws.
Tip: workpieces intended for braces should first be cut at an angle of 45 degrees
Do-it-yourself blanks for the table top are fastened with screws to the transverse beams.
How to make a rectangular table for a summer residence
After developing a work plan and approving the drawings of a table for a summer residence, purchase all the materials needed for this project. Choose wood designed for use on outdoors- pine, cedar, mahogany or pressed wood. When buying, check each board: they must be perfectly even and without any visible defects. Do not save on the quality of lumber, because your structure will have to withstand all the weather.
There are a few important points, which you must take into account if you want the result to be of a high professional level. Do not forget about the accuracy of measurement and the use of professional tools when cutting boards and bars and drilling holes. To increase the reliability of the design, you can additionally use waterproof glue to fasten the parts. Round open edges with a router or sandpaper.
Attention! Sizes are converted from inches and may not match metric measurements. Choose lumber that is as close as possible in size. Or just customize yourself.
Tools needed to implement the project:
- hacksaw, jigsaw;
- milling cutter;
- drill and drills;
- chalk cord, tape measure, spirit level, pencil;
- safety goggles and gloves.
Time:
- From one day to a week, depending on the chosen project. If you have power tools at your disposal, you can finish the job even faster - in just a few hours.
Tips:
- A milling cutter will help smooth the edges of wooden bars and boards.
- Before screwing in screws and self-tapping screws, drill guide holes in the wooden structural elements.
- The heads of the screwed self-tapping screws should not protrude above the wooden surface, and for this the inlet parts of the holes must be countersinked.
- Do not use cracked or warped lumber.
- Do not apply excessive force when tightening the screws, otherwise the wood may crack.
DIY picnic table. Step-by-step instruction
Materials:
- A - Legs: bars 5×10 cm, 106 cm long (2 pcs.), 43 cm long (2 pcs.) and 56 cm long (2 pcs.);
- B - Frame: bars 5 × 10 cm, 87 cm long (2 pcs.);
- C - Table top: boards 5×15 cm, length 180 cm (6 pcs.);
- D - Table top base: boards 5x15 cm, length 87 cm (2 pcs.), bars 5x10 cm, length 62 cm (2 pcs.).
The first stage of the project is the manufacture of table legs. Saw off the bars of the required size. To speed up the process, you can use a circular saw. Smooth out the edges of the bars and saw-off lines with sandpaper.
Connect the bars so that you get an X-shaped structure, and fasten them with 60 mm self-tapping screws, remembering to pre-drill the pilot holes. Lubricate the joints with glue. Make sure there are no cracks or gaps left.
Fasten each pair of legs with a horizontal bar using 60 mm self-tapping screws for this purpose. Cut off the ends of the bars, as shown in the figure.
Lay the boards intended for the manufacture of countertops on a flat surface. We advise you to place pieces of 6 mm plywood between them, this will allow you to form uniform gaps. Place the assembled table sides on the table top and secure them by screwing in the self-tapping screws at an angle of 90 mm. Before fixing, make sure that the legs and the tabletop are perpendicular using a spirit level.
Place the sawn pieces of 5x15 cm board on the underside of the table top and fix them with 60 mm self-tapping screws.
Saw off the ends of the bars, which will act as reinforcing supports for the structure, at an angle of 45º. Install the supports in their place and secure with 90mm self-tapping screws at an angle.
And finally, last but not least: check if the heads of the screws protrude above the wooden surface, and fill all the cracks and holes with wood putty.
Tip: To protect wooden surfaces from the damaging effects of atmospheric moisture, cover them with several coats of exterior paint or stain.
Table with benches. Instruction with drawings
Materials:
- A - Legs: bars 5x10 cm, length 95 cm (4 pieces);
- B - Crossbeams: bars 5 × 10 cm long 160 cm (2 pcs.);
- C - Tabletop fastening: bars 5×10 cm, 75 cm long (5 pcs.);
- D - Inclined supports: bars 5 × 10 cm long 84 cm (2 pcs.);
- E - Worktop: boards 5×10 cm, length 180 cm (14 pcs.).
It is worth starting work with the manufacture of legs. Since the legs of this table will be inclined, the ends of the 100 cm long bars should be cut at an angle of 30º. Connect the elements with 90 mm bolts.
Make sure the surface you are working on is fairly level. The mounted sidewalls of the table must be identical, only in this case you can hope for an excellent end result.
When the sides of the table are ready, you can start making a wooden table top. We recommend that you put it together on the ground (floor), and then fasten it to the legs with self-tapping screws.
Tip: Remember to check the verticality of the side walls of the table with a spirit level, otherwise the end result of your work is unlikely to satisfy you.
Rigidly fix the entire structure with inclined supports. Their ends must first be cut at an angle of 26º.
Now it remains only to build benches. Saw off the boards of the desired size, place them on both sides of the table and, having previously drilled several pilot holes at a distance of at least 1 cm from the edges, secure with self-tapping screws.
Tip: To keep the seat boards evenly spaced, place studs or pieces of plywood between them before fixing them. Thanks to this little trick, all the gaps will be the same.
At the end of the work, pay attention to small, but very important touches. Fill all cracks and holes with wood putty. After the putty has dried, sand the wooden surfaces with medium-grit sandpaper.
Tip: Be sure to apply several coats of paint or stain to protect wood surfaces from water and sunlight.
Round table. We do it on our own in the country
Materials:
- A - Base: bar 5x10 cm long 102.5 cm (1 pc.) and 47 cm long (2 pcs.), bars 2.5x10 cm 9 cm long (4 pcs.);
- B - Racks: bars 10 × 10 cm, 60 cm long (4 pcs.);
- C - Tabletop base: 5x10 cm bars 82.5 cm long (1 pc.) and 52.5 cm long (2 pcs.), 2.5x10 cm bars 47.5 cm long (4 pcs.) and 60 cm long (2 pcs.) ;
- D - Tabletop: boards 2.5×15 cm long 195 cm (9 pcs.).
The first stage of the project is to create the base of the table. To articulate its constituent elements, use waterproof glue and self-tapping screws. Make sure that the corners formed by the joined beams are straight. To protect the assembled table base from rotting from rainwater, place it on small stands made from 2.5x10 cm board scraps.
Now you need to attach four posts made of square bars to the base. Before fixing, make sure they are vertical with a spirit level. The height of the legs may differ from those proposed by us, in this case, you should, first of all, focus on your own needs.
The most difficult stage of the project is the manufacture of countertops. Place the boards on a flat surface and mark the center of the square. Fasten one end of a 60 cm rail at this point. Rotating the second end of the rail, mark the outlines of the circle. A jigsaw with a sharp blade will allow you to make circular cuts at a high professional level.
After sawing the boards of the future tabletop, we recommend that you fasten them together with waterproof glue and additionally fix them with a few clamps. Attach the bars that serve as the base of the tabletop, as shown in the picture (yellow elements should be made from 5x10 cm bars, green - from 2.5x10 cm bars).
Tip: Use waterproof glue and galvanized self-tapping screws to fasten the battens to the table top (30mm screws for 2.5x10cm battens and 50mm for 5x10cm battens).
After the glue has dried, you must attach the legs to the base of the tabletop with 90mm self-tapping screws, pre-drilling pilot holes. Use a spirit level to check the perpendicularity of the legs and the tabletop.
To ensure that the result of your work corresponds to a high professional level, make sure that the heads of the self-tapping screws are recessed deep enough. Cover all cracks and holes with wood putty, after it dries, sand the surface with sandpaper.
Tip: Apply several coats of outdoor paint or wood stain to protect the table from moisture damage. To ensure that the base supports are also untouched by water, place the table on a concrete surface and insulate them hermetically.
Now you know how to make your own picnic table. One has only to make a little effort, which will subsequently be rewarded with enthusiastic exclamations of friends and pleasant summer evenings spent with the family at a large table.
How Nice on a fine summer day to sit with family and friends in the garden, have some tea and just talk about this and that, enjoying the voices of birds, the smells of herbs and clean air.
And so that the gatherings are maximum comfortable for both owners and guests in the garden you need a reliable and convenient table.
What are country tables and what can be use as material for their manufacturing, consider in this article.

Types of garden tables
Options garden there are a lot of tables. It could be a small table picnic and a large outdoor dining table, table- brazier(aka a fire table) and a gazebo table.
Great solution for giving - bench table. It can be either a stationary table, combined with benches into a single structure, or transformer. In the latter case, the usual-looking bench with back if necessary, it is laid out in a table and one or two benches.
Another version of the transformer is a bench with a folding table for two
What can you make a table for giving
- Wood
Country tables are mainly made from solid array,, MDF or plywood. Highly effectively look countertops made of saw cuts tree.
Wood - aesthetic, a strong, malleable material, but less durable than metal, glass, and plastic. - Metal
Less popular, but no less beautiful products from metal. The disadvantage of this material is that options countertop decor is much smaller than wood or plastic. - Glass
Tempered glass looks nice enough durable. And yet, glass products are not popular as outdoor furniture. In addition, when self-manufacturing, there may be problems with cutting material and subsequent mount glass parts of the table. There are also much fewer glass table decor options. - Plastic
In order for the plastic table to hold shape, metal must be used frame. - Improvised materials and unnecessary items
It is easy to build a table from a stump, old boards, pallets, logs and the remaining unnecessary things. If there is a desire and perseverance, then the table can be woven even from newspaper tubules.
Bench table
Materials and tools
To create a country table with benches, you will need the following materials:
Also needed tools:
- pencil, ruler, marker;
- hacksaw or an electric saw;
- chisel;
- grinder or medium grit;
- brushes for impregnation and varnish;
- manual router(can be used for additional processing of edges).
Manufacturing steps
Step 1. Mark and cut all over required dimensions boards.Step 2 Sand them by hand or grinding typewriter.
Step 3 All the top boards that hold together benches(4 pcs. each) and table (4 pcs.), we file at an angle of 45 degrees in the form of a trapezoid. To do this, you need to draw rectangle, fold two boards crosswise (from corner to corner), and file them along bottom long side of the rectangle. You don't need to cut the tops!
Next you need turn over boards with unsawn sides and do the same so that they take shape trapezoid. There should be 4 trapezoid boards in total for table(2 pcs on one side and 2 pcs on the other) and 4 pcs for each benches(2 pieces on each side of the bench).
Step 4 We put 7 long boards in a row with gap 3-4 mm and fasten them with beams (2 pieces on both sides) using self-tapping screws(80 mm).
Step 5 Put in a row of three boards the same length as the table and fasten them with smaller beams. The gap between the boards is 5-10 mm. Self-tapping screws 80 mm.
Step 6 We drive two legs of the bench on each side between the fastening trapezoidal boards. We fasten self-tapping screws 100 mm.
Step 7 between legs we fix board perpendicular to the seat of the bench. And long boards fasten between both benches (2 boards on each side of the bench). It turns out rectangular dining area with benches on the sides.
Step 8 The legs of our table will crossed. To do this, we mark the place of sampling, saw off with a hacksaw and knock out half of the board with a chisel so that the second leg fits perfectly into the first. We make both supports and fasten them with countertop(between the trapezoidal boards).
Step 9 Finished table supports insert between long boards (inside the dining area).
Step 10 All joints we strengthen furniture bolts and tighten.
Step 12 8-12 hours after application last impregnation layer can be applied transparent varnish. We took colorless protective covering in order to emphasize natural the beauty of wood and focus on naturalness products.
Possible after impregnation paint table with ordinary waterproof paint or decorate in other ways (carving, mosaic, painting contrast paint through a stencil, etc.). After decorating, it is necessary to apply 1-2 layers of transparent varnish.
Note! Instead of the usual boards on the bench and countertop, a more aesthetic option would be a edging of boards, the edges of which are sawn strictly at 45 degrees.
You can build the same table, but a little lengthen him by placing another one in the middle support and fastenings on legs supports and benches. They make a table-bench with others option supports (A-shaped).
You can put it or make it right away with canopy:
Stump table
Highly original and an unusual table is a country table from stump. He can represent himself ordinary round stump (part of a log), treated with impregnation and varnish. Often three are screwed to such mini-tables. wheel, which makes them mobile.The stump should be dried, without cracks, severe chips, rot and damp wood(especially the middle). Term drying freshly sawn or a freshly uprooted stump - no less 70 days.
When bark the stump will become easy depart from the inner surface, proceed to processing.
Note! wood materials used for the manufacture of countertops must be at least 20 mm thick.
Another option for a stump table is a stable medium-sized stump with roots, to which the table top is attached. various materials. In this case bark it is not necessary to remove from the stump.
Materials and tools
For the manufacture of a table from a stump, we will need:- countertop;
- level, pencil, ruler or tape measure;

Manufacturing steps
Step 1. We release the dried stump from bark using a chisel (chisel). If soft, spoiled, rotten or damp places are found in the stump, they must also be carefully delete.
Step 2 With the help of construction level we trim the bottom and top of our hemp so that the countertop is clearly positioned horizontally. Irregularities are removed with plane, hacksaws or saws. AT modern interior often meets wooden furniture- it adds comfort, such furniture is environmentally friendly and, with proper surface treatment, easy to clean.
The table itself is an extremely functional invention, in demand in the kitchen, in the workshop, and in the office.
A wooden table combines functionalism, environmental friendliness and aesthetics. Such an interior item can be made by hand.
If you intend to assemble the table yourself, the first thing you should pay attention to is the material of manufacture. Very rarely, a whole cut of a tree is used as an improvised material, much more often - wooden boards. Advantages this material: they can be sawn to the desired size at any construction base; it is also easy to take them to the place of assembly if you have a personal car.
Of the minuses you can name only the possible difficulties that may arise during installation, and also what you should pay attention to correct handling material - otherwise the boards may disperse and will not last long.
Sexual
This material is used for floor coverings, for sheathing buildings and premises, and, according to the topic of this article, for the manufacture of interior items. Advantages such material are as follows:
- most floorboards have a groove, as this is how they are fastened together.
This allows you to fasten the boards into the tabletop without any problems, while the joints will be the same and look aesthetically beautiful;
- most of edged boards has already been processed, so after assembling the table, you can not resort to additional painting or varnishing of the product;
- even if the floorboard is an ordinary edged one, it still fits with other boards better than the rest.
But the floorboard has limitations. For example, for a varnished board, the buyer can pay a larger amount than for an ordinary one with subsequent self-coating. Batten has a limited size, that is, its size will dictate the size of the countertop, or you will have to adjust the length yourself.
Important. It is impossible to make legs from a floorboard, only a countertop. This means that you will have to select a different material for the legs.
unedged
This board It has jagged edges with bark, as it is made by a longitudinal section of a tree trunk. Such boards are cheaper, with their help you can achieve the original design solutions. But at the same time, they require additional processing, and it is rather difficult to join them.
oak
They are distinguished by unique strength, density and resistance to many biological and physical influences. Highly expensive, but in terms of service life, this material fully pays off.
Drawing
The drawing is necessary, because thanks to it the table will fit exactly into the room. Also, the drawing will allow you to calculate the volume required material. But first things first. What problems will the drawing solve?
- Dimensions. If this kitchen table and the kitchen custom sizes, and the table, respectively, will differ from the standards.
- Model. Despite the fact that, in general, a table is four legs and a tabletop, there are a huge number of options for how to make it. There are a lot of table models, types of tabletops and legs.
- Calculation consumable . Having basic mathematical skills from the finished drawing, you can calculate the amount of material needed. So that after buying the board it does not turn out that there are a lot of scraps left, or that there was not enough material.
Advice. Can be downloaded finished drawing from the Internet and modify it to fit your needs.
Tools
To perform the work, you may need the following tools, which should be prepared in advance:
- a hammer;
- chisel;
- hacksaw;
- drill;
- plane;
- nail puller;
- saw.
Advice. If further work with the tool is not planned, then you can not buy it, but rent it.
How to do?
After the material is selected, the drawing is prepared and everything necessary tools, you can start to assembly. When drawing up the drawing of the table, all its constituent elements, as well as fasteners, were highlighted. First of all, all the necessary elements are cut and turned in accordance with the dimensions indicated in the drawings. Then, after verification and measurement after manufacturing, you can proceed to the assembly of parts.
Important. Tools can cause damage. Observe safety precautions.
Assembly order quite simple, you can highlight the general steps, regardless of which model of the table you plan to assemble. The build steps are as follows:
1. Assembly of legs. The legs of the table, cut according to the drawing, are fastened with beams using self-tapping screws or nails. For greater reliability, the attachment points should be treated with glue, only then pulled off with self-tapping screws.
2. Attached to the leg structure countertop. To do this, planks are marked on the tabletop that fasten the legs, then with the help of self-tapping screws, nails, screws or fasteners, the tabletop is attached to the structure of the legs.
3. Installation horizontal screed. Many table models require a tie between the legs of the table so that they do not move apart.
Finishing
After the product is assembled, it must be processed. Processing is necessary so that the product is resistant to the effects of the external environment and lasts many times longer than without processing.
Product processing means its grinding and subsequent varnishing. Most often, grinding and varnishing are performed several times for greater reliability.
